That's a fair prediction, BUT...when you look at MPG this year vs. last year, it's a much clearer case to nominate Rafer for MIP because Calderon is getting a lot more playing time this year than he did last year. But I agree that Calderon will probably get it, just not necessarily that he should get it...
I agree. If you take Rafer's Nov off the books...which is fair because we can say that about our whole team...the stats show he's having the best yr of his career. But over the last month or so, he is clearly the MIP.
Not even close really. Rafer's points per game, 3P%, FT% and minutes are down from last year... his assists slightly up. It's his FG% that has made a big leap -- and that stat won't even get him in the picture for that award, which generally goes to someone who saw a huge boost in numbers due to increased minutes.
rafer has always been an important player in my opinion, in fact i think he's more important to make the offense run, more than Yao or Tmac, when he's out of the game we just can't get our offense start for some strange reason...when he's out of the game it seems like we just dribble the ball until 24 seconds runs off, so he's always the X factor of where this team can go....
I don't know about this. But Tmac should certainly be the MVP if we keep playing like this. Dude is putting the Rockets on his back alone. Amazing player.
its like the more competition he gets, the better he plays. dude does not want to lose this job, bring in james and francis, he plays better, bring in jackson, he plays better. its crazy
Kaman had a career season 2 years ago. Last season he fell off but with no Elton Brand to hold down the inside this year, thought i was pretty obvious he was going to go off this year. I'd say Calderon will win for sure, he went from coming in off the bench to playing at an all-star level.
