How is that? I already have my product ... I don't care if anyone signs up or not. It would be spamming if I had posted a referral link which I haven't, and don't intend to. Asking anyone to email me if they're intersted isn't to pass along a link ... again, I have the stuff I wanted.

The only reason I did post again was because Faos had asked if I had recieved the item in the earlier thread.

If anyone is interested, I'm just letting them know that it does work and they should try it if they want to. No personal gain for me whatsoever.

I agree. Don't worry about it. He has his product, he is happy with it and wants other people to know about it... if they want, they can email him. Personally, I find it to be interesting in terms of how they make money, that it works (scam? debateable I guess), etc. I don't see why you are accusing him of trying to enlist people.

So you're not trying to get people from this board to help get one of these products?

    ;)

I don't know if you guys have heard of the new way to get these but I think it'll work well, especially maybe on this forum.

What you do is create basically what is called a "Conga line"

One person creates a forum especially for this. And there has to be someone to organize and maintain the conga line.

The first person signs up getting his referral link.

    He will post his link.

Now, as people want to get in on the Free Ipods they must
    1. Sign up for a fake email with Yahoo to avoid all the spam
    2. Use the referral link to sign up that was originally posted,
    3. Sign up for an offer and cancel accordingly, making sure it was confirmed.
    4. E-mail the organizer their info they signed up with including the email address, the offer they signed up for, and new referral link they get.

What eventually happens is when that first referral link gets 5 people to sign up, its done, and the next person's referral link becomes the link for the next 5 people who want to join the conga line. The organizer has to just update the "Current Referral Link" on the original post so that more people can sign up and the people who signed up can get their referrals filled.

The problem is that it's not a "Conga Line", where you have one person behind another person. It's a Pyramid where you need 5 people to join for every one person to get it. So after a while the Pyramid just falls apart because they can't get enough people to keep it going. I mean, in order for the 10th person to receive their item they'll need 50 people to sign up and then cancel the subscription.

I don't blame rockit for posting this. If you can get a free ipod by having friends/family that are willing to go through this process, then more power to you. But this gets to be a major annoyance when a LOT of people start going on message boards and soliciting for signups.

No, again ... I'm not. I really don't need anyone to signup for me thru here. I didn't realize mentioning it would be an issue.

Exactly ... even though this forum is huge, it's not that sort of a community like a GearLive or other forums like it, so it'll be very hard to make it worthwhile for anyone beyond maybe the first few folks to get it done.

I'd recommend www.gearlive.com for more information about how these sites work, and all the details as well as seeing which of these things are scams and which are legit.

They have conga lines there, but they're soooo long it's pretty pointless.
