Recordwise, yes. But the Rockets had to bust their asses for a lot of those wins. Partly due to injuries. But also because they weren't as dominant offensively. Their point differential that year was +3.4 which was 5th best out of the 8 playoff teams in the West. This year, it's +7.8 which is good for 2nd in the West and 3rd in the entire league. We're destroying the competition on most nights.
The losses that sting the most are game 1 at OKC, what did we go the last 6 plus minutes without a field goal up double digits in the 4th? Game 2 vs SA at home, up 13 with 4 mins left, stupid TOs plus Manu and Mills go bonkers for no reason, 19-2 run. And season opener at LA, a crappy team, we win that game 9 out of 10 times. We should actually be 28-6 IMO, weird
The Rockets also pulled a win out of their backside at Minnesota a few weeks ago. These things even out.
You forgot Game 6. Actually, you can argue that it was Dwight (or Smoove, or Brewer or McHale ) who took us there.
And Mchale was always a below average coach that harden made look decent... Until the squad got fed up and quit.
So you're willing to give Utah and Memphis the benefit of the doubt in terms of getting better by season's end, but not the Rockets??
Refreshing? Seems a little boring to me. Remember those days where we'd play Kings and you just never knew what you'd get? The Rockets were like a box of chocolates then.
It's really fun to watch the bench come in. Completely different team than last year. This team is having fun and it makes it fun to watch. I respect defense but I enjoy offense!
