Never understood this logic. It does matter. You want your best guys to start the game that fit best together to set the tone for the rest of the game.
not every team plays their best guys to start the game. We don't do it, we don't play our best 5 to start the game.

Clark has become a favorite of D'Antoni, earning the bulk of the minutes that were expected to go to Anthony. "Gary Clark's a player," D'Antoni said after the Rockets outscored the Pacers by 16 in Clark's 33 minutes Sunday. "He's a player. Defense, rebounding, right position, shoots the ball. I mean, he's a player."
notice how i said best fit together. that's probably the most important aspect. never said throw out your best 5 whatever you think that may be. that's not how the game works
It's bad when someone talks about playing team basketball and it can be construed as a shot at someone. I hear you GC.
I'm all for Gary Clark grabbing that starting spot . BUT , we've got to lock him up before that . Otherwise he has way too much leverage and won't take our MLE offer . We've got to make him think it's still Ennis' for the long haul and that when Melo comes back from "being sick" that he will probably take some of clarks mins because he's a vet.
Small sample size, but damn, those are impressive numbers. If you have players that just play their roles, this team will be successful. Gary does not disrupt this offense at all. He is fine catching the ball and shooting immediately or making a move to the basket, otherwise he swings it to the next open guy. His defense is also great, moves his feet well, stays vertical and has good timing to block shots. I hope he keeps it up, because it would be nice to have a young 3 and D for the next couple of years of Hardens prime.
