Paying 4.8 million for the last pick in the 2nd round just to avoid paying Ariza’s salary is as low as it gets. It’s a good financial move for Tilman, but I am tired of him and his staff trying to deceive the fan base with lies about fake efforts. The trade was a deception to look competitive while dumping salary. That would be the case with all moves made in the past two years. My friend played for the Rockets and knows Harden and said that no $103 million offer was ever made....yet another deception. Saying they had deals that fell through at the trade deadline is yet another deception while quietly and ridiculously dumping Capela’s salary. The lies and deception of this owner go on and on. This casino owner has played us all and will continue to do so while pocketing these very nice multimillion dollar trade exceptions. Well played Mr. Tilman and best of luck continuing to sell false hopes to Houston’s naive fan base.
Since James Harden trade in 2012, we have had 8 years of being exciting and one of the top teams in the NBA. Only hiccup being the freak Ty Lawson year. That run is now over. Get ready for at least 8 seasons now of being a bottom of the barrel team. Think about how old you will be the next time the Rockets are even close to title contending again.
It’s part of the trade to dump Arizas salary. A cost cutting move they spun to make it look like tilman would actually pay for a pick.
Houston fans are way too smart for this ****. The Capela trade was an obvious salary dump with the addition of our 1st round pick. Our ****ing owner not only can’t afford to pay an expiring Ariza who would be a major asset at the deadline. But he can’t even afford the salary of the 16th pick this year which is why they traded it. Surprised he even has 4.6mil to pay Detroit. How does the NBA allow an owner to buy a team foe 2 billion that is broke as ****. I realize covid is killing him but he was broke and cheap before 2020 hence the Capela trade and the illusion of micro ball.
Don't give up on us... That mid- level exception may get us an aging player that's game ready... You know we love those here!
i was thinking about reports that Harden wasn't picking up calls etc ... I was wondering , maybe pinning john lucas as his favorite was a lie and he is pissed at that . Everything we had heard up to that point suggested harden loved MDA . How much of what weve heard about what james and russ want is just BS ?
It pays the partial guaranteed amount of Ariza contract. When worked with Covington-Ariza deal of Portland-Detroit-Houston......it allows the $12.8M TPE. Go after the center Silas needs to run his offense in free agency: Ibaka/Baynes/Favors Maybe try to keep Westbrook and add Ibaka to make Harden (& Westbrook) happy. Keep Westbrook and trade Eric Gordon is an option Keep Eric Gordon and trade Westbrook is an option. Fact is a rookie center or PF probably doesn’t help immediately like when we drafted Royce White and J Lamb.
