Robert Horry ended up fine after being shopped and traded... then returned.

lol Morey is going to fail to land another big star in his prime yet again, isn't he? Another failure of an offseason because he gets desperate chasing one star instead of smartly assembling a roster, collecting picks, and developing players like the other great GMs.

Like Danny Ainge perhaps? All those collected picks and player development doesn’t always work out either. Morey isn’t the problem.

i don't mind if he fails after at least trying. i don't care much for all his hype beforehand though. hopefully he has a backup plan for signing some decent role players this time

Might motivate Clint to get better. This was pretty annoying last year. It gave me Terrence Jones vibes:

Pretty sure Danny Ainge hasn't had a problem landing stars throughout his career. A bad example for you. In fact, as soon as his star leaves this offseason, he already has everything in place to land Kemba. Meanwhile, Morey is hard-capping his team and chasing after washed-up stars and striking out on prime stars every single time.

You don't mind if your GM keeps failing in making the team better? The Raptors are better. The Bucks are better. The Sixers are better with Butler. The Clippers might become a juggernaut. The Lakers are also big competition now, and I haven't even mentioned the Warriors yet.

And for all Morey's failings, Rockets have been the only team in West to push champion Warriors during their era of dominance.

Harden has been 1st or 2nd best player in entire NBA for same period.

What has Celtics accomplished under Ainge during this time?

    Jack **** that's what.

How many of those "other GM's" have won or even come close to winning anything?

    Need stars to win.

For all the building Toronto did, they only won once they got Kawhi and the Warriors suffered two huge injuries....and Lebron left the east...

All that Building up of the roster Boston did amounted to a hill of beans.

Rockets have had their best seasons under Morey immediately after acquiring big fish in the off season....And you upset that he's trying to do it again. Kind of weird tbh.

He is doing the exact right thing but maybe you'd instead prefer he went after the Lins and Asiks of the world....

Do the Rockets even have a scheduled meeting with Jimmy Butler? I’ve seen reports saying they “planned to meet with him as soon as the FA period starts”, but haven’t seen if Butler or his reps had agreed to this.

The only star he has landed is Hayward.

He is losing a star he traded for in Irving.

2 stars did not want to go there in Kawhi and Davis.

the only reason he might get Jenna is to offer a non superstar the max.

yes he has definitely had trouble getting stars.
