Since Luc has returned and he is absolutely killing us. I know he was a big part of our regular season and a fan favorite but he has been abysmal. I realize he’s been injured and he’s not right but this isn’t the time for sympathy. Our season is on the line on Wednesday. Why hasn’t Luc gotten more criticism or complaints? It’s almost like he’s gotten a free pass. Make no mistake though he’s been silently killing us and his poor play was mostly masked with wins and advancing but today it was very evident and it must be known. Through those 6 games and playing just under 20 mins a game he’s shooting 26% from the field , 17% from deep, and he’s averaging 3.3 ppg and 3 rpg. I know his value doesn’t lie within stats but those numbers are atrocious and they must not be ignored. His intangibles haven’t been there, his defense isn’t noticeably good, his shots are way off, he’s missing layups and he looks tentative and scared overall. Do we hope he “gets it together” by next game or should we distribute his minutes elsewhere to Ryno or Joe? It’s a serious question and I think we gotta seriously consider it. Even if he does an amazing job on Durant it’s not like he’s going to shut him down and KD will still get his regardless. That was expected. However, the expectation was also that he would bring other things to the table but they’ve been missing. The opportunity cost isn’t worth it when the D isn't superb and you're a negative on offense 0-6 tonight while looking uncomfortable and missing badly while the "winning plays" were accustomed to seeing just haven't been there.
If you think MDA will do that (giving less minutes or no minutes to Luc), then you're in for a long (or rather short if we keep losing) ride.
We are one Durant away. Seriously, I think MDA is just happy to have Luc come back for the Playoffs.......he ain't young no more. We have too many defensive specialists and not enough passers and pure scorers on the bench.
