he made a legit point and you waved it off as being nothing more than a comparison of israeli soldiers to alqaeda members?

even so, palestinians have faced more terror from israeli soldiers than most of us have faced from alqaeda members, more palestinian innocentss die yearly from the shots of israeli soldiers than do all other nationalities from the shot of alqaeda members.

    ---

In my opinion Israel should have negotiated the release of women and children for the soldier, that would have been a legit trade. this way both win a little, israel gets its soldier back, palestine gets its women and children.

yes, everyday we see less and less suicide bombings and fewer number of innocents killed due to our wonderful method of fighting terrorism with bombs.

Everyday after 9/11,.. I am reminded that another 9/11 hasn't happened here in the United States...(I'm not sure where you are at). Why? Because of the tactics of taking it to the terrorists...We need to just continue going for the throat on your homeboys and that is the strategy to ensure OUR safety... :D

In 1993 the WTC was bombed but another terrorist attack on US soil didn't occur until 2001. If we were sitting around debating terrorism in 1998 we could say that things were working since there hadn't been an attack on US soil in 5 years. Forget the fact that there are other major terrorists attacks goign on around the world.

Your argument is the same. There have been major terrorists attacks around the World in the past 5 years and even according to the Admin's own experts its not a matter of if but a matter of when for another on US soil. Al Qaeda doesn't operate on our time table and its very specious reasoning to say that since there hasn't been another 9/11 our policy is working.

Israel hasn't been peaceful for any sizeable amount of time. And actually the period during the Oslo talks when they were the most peaceful, was the time in which their were the fewest suicide bombing attacks.

You are talking based out of emotion and prehaps some misinformation instead of the reality both in the past and present.

The truth is we never know anything in absolution...However, there are tactics in place and a Dept. of Homeland Security established with greater attentiveness...After 9/11, the mindset was changed to be proactive on the engagement process...The strategy before 9/11 and after is completely different...Nothing is a guarantee, but the post 9/11 strategy is best at securing the homeland because resources are better pulled together, and greater attention is made to ascertain threats...

I know it is working because there are two less nations that are a haven for governmental supported terroristic endeavors...I know it is working when I see cooperation from other countries...
If no change of strategy was instituted post 9/11, then I could see where the analogy of what happened in the past as it regards to the timeline is of consequence...As it does there is weak correlation since a strategy, defined tactics and a plan of action was put into place...It can work long term by ensuring tactics designed to work is able to...

What I'm referring to is they need to examine the complacency when you realize they conceded the Gaza strip and after doing this the Hamas leader in Lebanon declared, at a rally attended by local members of parliament, that the resistance would continue until all of Palestine—including Jerusalem—is “liberated.”

The leader further decried negotiations...The point you may have missed is the resistance translates to the continued killing of 19 year old Israeli girls and such...

So why even give an inch, give an arm, when the other side is all about killing, absolutionism, not negotiating and a stated goal is wiping you off the map?...

It's the occupation that translates into the continued killing of innocent people on both sides. Resistance is opposition to an act or event, in this case the occupation. You can't resist what doesn't exist or never happened.

By vacating Gaza Israel was doing nothing other than living up to a part of its obligations. They should live up to the rest of their occupations as well. The Palestinians should keep on resisting until all the occupied territories are liberated including at least part of Jeruselem. That would be resisting for what is right and legal.

The problem is when the Palestinians use terrorism as part of the way they resist.

I am against the killing of 19 year old Israeli girls, or 19 Palestinian girls. Again the Palestinians have lost far more civilians than the ISraelis have. That is true even if you count Israeli settlers as civilians.

But there was a plan in place in 1998 too. Anyway as noted there still are ongoing terrorist attacks worldwide so its not as though the threat of terrorism has been defeated. The strategies change but that doesn't mean the results are proven to be different.

The 1998 plan is not in the same scope and manner of the post 9/11 strategy/tactics...

Certainly there are still ongoing attacks worldwide. The United States can do alot, but not everything worldwide...and I believe the scale of the attacks have been diminished...I would say it is much more difficult to conduct large scale terrorist attacks anywhere due to the post 9/11 tactics and strategy plans in place...

Technically not true. There are a finite number of humans, and all terrorists are humans. There are a finite number of people that support the cause of the Palestinians, and all of the terrorists attcking Israel support the cause of the Palestinians. Further reducing this group, there are a finite number of people willing to kill themselves to advance the goals of the Palestinian terrorists. There is a military solution to their problem, and it is one that was used pretty effectively by the United States in dealing with a troublesome native population. I don't think Israel should take that route, but it does exist.

If the adults, law enforcement and government officials in Sugarland fail to go after the kidnappers themselves, and have a history of bankrolling the kidnappings along with Park N' Ride & Ninfa's bombings, and their City Charter has a clause that seeks a Sugarlandian empire from the Brazos to the Sabine, then you'd be justified responding with deadly force.

If anyone should be worried about the possibility of a genocide taking place against their people, it's the Israelis. If they remain on the same path they have been on for the past few decades, I wouldn't want to be an Israeli or live in Israel fifty year from now.

Unfortunately there's probably no way for us to ever know if a major terrorist attack could happen until it happens. I hope you're right and we never have to find out but pardon me for my skepticism.

How about King Solomon's reign from 965 BCE to 926 BCE?

Yeah, but they are pretty ineffective soldiers and not too hard to kill. ;)
