ATW at it again claiming anyone who is not Israel right or wrong is anti-semite
    https://www.reuters.com/world/europ...waters-nazi-style-costume-concert-2023-05-26/

mages from a May 17 concert showed the famed singer and bass player in a long black trench coat with bright red arm bands, aiming an imitation machine gun into the audience.

The outfit included a swastika-like emblem made of two crossed hammers - iconography that also appeared on costumes in a film based on Pink Floyd's hit 1979 album "The Wall", a critique of fascism.

Waters said the depiction of "an unhinged fascist demagogue" had been a feature of his shows since "The Wall".

Or you could get out of your fact free bubble and do some research. I recently talked to about a sixty year old member of Jewish Vote for Peace who decried that Zionists are so uninformed wrt to Zionism and Israel.

Jerusalem) – Israeli authorities are committing the crimes against humanity of apartheid and persecution, Human Rights Watch said in a report released today. The finding is based on an overarching Israeli government policy to maintain the domination by Jewish Israelis over Palestinians and grave abuses committed against Palestinians living in the occupied territory, including East Jerusalem.

The 213-page report, “A Threshold Crossed: Israeli Authorities and the Crimes of Apartheid and Persecution,” examines Israel’s treatment of Palestinians. It presents the present-day reality of a single authority, the Israeli government, ruling primarily over the area between the Jordan River and Mediterranean Sea, populated by two groups of roughly equal size, and methodologically privileging Jewish Israelis while repressing Palestinians, most severely in the occupied territory.

No one with even a modicum of knowledge would call it the Nakba. It was the War of Israeli Independance, and it happened when instead of accepting a "Palestinian" homeland, the Arabs launched a genocidal war against the fledgling state of Israel, which resulted in massive Israeli gains and the first of many defeats in the ongoing Arab-Israeli war. Over time, the Arabs have repeatedly tried to destroy Israel and repeatedly lost people and land as a result. One can only hope that this latest chapter will see the end of Hamas, the relocation of the people living in Gaza to places where they can actually thrive, and a secure Israel.

The irony is this is the exact same logic that the Turkish government has used to deny the Armenian genocide.

    "But we were at war!?!"

He then goes on to say how he was wrong and now sees the reality. Read the whole thing don't just cherry pick what makes you feel good. Confirmation bias is not your friend!

This is what is weird - you attack others as playing dumb when you can't even tell what the piece is about lol.

The difference is, the Armenians would have been the Israelis and the Turks would have been the Arabs, but the Israelis won. The Ottoman Empire dwarfed the Armenians in power and population, just like the Arab states dwarfed the Israelis. The Ottomans attacked the Armenians, just like the Arabs attacked the Israelis. The Ottomans were Muslims oppressing a religious minority, just like the Arabs. Somehow you managed to exactly reverse the analogy from the way it actually makes sense.

This isn't the Arab states vs Israel. This is Israel with a modern war machine vs stateless people with a eag tag group of terrorist teens who are a fart in the wind when it comes to conventional warfare and a Lebanese militia group half-assing pretending they are doing something.

Do you know what the Nakba refers to? It doesn't seem like you do.

He literally ends the article asking a hypothetical whether the Arabs will ever get a better deal in their lifetime and he points to right wing Israelis as to answer his own question with a no.

Will the Palestinians ever get a better deal than the one they were offered in 2001? Yes or no?

If the best deal you get is a bad deal, you don't take it. Palestinians have a right not to be treated unjustly. Israel was taking advantage of them, taking their land slowly by slowly. They were and still are being colonized and held in an apartheid state. That's an injustice.

You don't see it that. Fine. But if you want to believe that was a good deal, you're believing a lie. And now that you are moving goalposts and saying "well, it's the best deal they could get therefore they should take it" then lol, no...no self-respecting people would accept those terms.

Anglican Church of Southern Africa declares Israel an ‘apartheid state’

[Episcopal News Service] On Sept. 27, the Provincial Standing Committee of the Anglican Church of Southern Africa adopted a resolution declaring Israel an apartheid state.

The Provincial Standing Committee includes the Archbishop of Cape Town, the bishops of the province and one clerical and one lay representative of each diocese.

The preamble to the resolution notes that a variety of organizations, including the South African Council of Churches, Amnesty International and Human Rights Watch already have made similar declarations about the state of Israel.

“As people of faith who are distressed by the pain of the occupation of the West Bank and Gaza – and who long for security and a just peace for both Palestine and Israel – we can no longer ignore the realities on the ground. We are opposed not to the Jewish people, but to the policies of Israelis’ governments, which are becoming ever more extreme,” Archbishop Thabo Makgoba wrote in a statement posted here.

The resolution also calls for future Christian pilgrimages to Israel to include an interfaith component, a discussion regarding the current situation of Christians in the Holy Land, meetings with Palestinian Christians where possible, and visits to the sites of events in Jesus’ life, including those that are in territories controlled by Israel.
