I really want you to point me to people cheering for the murder of civilians and children on this message board. Have some Palestinians express genocidal thoughts and now we can in perpetuity put down these people in a open air prison. How many Israelis today have said stuff around glassing Gaza. It's so funny how tribalism works. You had Americans in the hundreds of thousands express desires to glass entire nations. So does that mean any other country turning Americans into open air prisons is justified? It's so weird how people in developed countries don't consider ordinance drops by conventional militaries and people cheering it on as cheering for genocide like some random Palestine saying thry want to kill all the Jews.
@DonnyMost would Sam Harris consider many Americans making claims about wanting to glass entire countries after 9/11 as sound moral justification to turn America into a open air prison to contain the genocide cheering maniacs?
Don’t both sides this - only one guy has been spouting bigotry and making threats. Roc Paint should be perma banned.
You people need to join a Marine infantry unit to realize how many Americans are open to genocide of groups of people.
the info that Roc Paint gave out himself while challenging astros123 to a face-to-face confrontation that Roc Paint implied would end violently? Again, not equivalent - not in the least.
Boy this thread really turned into something. We'd be screwed if a 9/11 type event happened to us today based on the nonsense here.
FREE PALESTINIAN! And no Israeli civilian deserves to die because of the actions of the IDF. Those families that lost loved ones today are going through immense pain, rage and grief. It's a cycle.
Maybe the divide wouldn’t be the worst thing - all that “coming together as one country” laid the ground for two revenge invasions that had no discernible end game and led to the deaths of thousands of young Americans and possibly over a million Afghans and Iraqis. It’s wonderful to come together in support of victims but it gets awfully dangerous when the same unity leads to group think on deeply flawed policy actions that are This is a detour from the main thread - apologies.
@AroundTheWorld I know in the future when IDF does their retaliation you will cheer them when news reports of Hamas deaths are happening. Also understand that has a population density of nearly 17000 people per square mile. That means every single reported strike that results in Hamas deaths in Gaza will have civilian deaths tagged along with that. That is the nature of dropping ordinance where there is a population density of 17000 people per square mile. I'm not asking you to stnpsthize with the Hamas deaths. Just understand every strike you celebrate is a strike you are celebrating that involved civilian deaths. I really hope you can introspect on this. Edit: Gaza city itself has a population density of 34,000 people per square mile.
What isn't true? That Israel has a better military to civilians killed ratio that Hamas? That Israel has not done everything they are capable of to destroy the Palestinians? Does the US Constitution explicitly call for the annihilation of another people? The Hamas Charter does. There is a difference between angry people crying out after a tragic event and building a whole society around the ideology of genocide. If a new party arose after 9/11 on a platform of wiping out Saudi Arabia, and that party was elected to a majority in Congress, that would be the equivalent of the way Gaza elected Hamas.
I don't celebrate any strikes. It's a tragedy. But Israel has every right to defend itself, and to eliminate the threat.
TBH, they were acting like children and needed a timeout to calm down. There were a few threats, or words that could be perceived as such, from both sides.
