<iframe width="560" height="315" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/iw8x3H7hUyE" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe> that's basically the analysis of this video SAS not being able to play their motion offense effectively, thus pressuring Kawhi and LMA to go ISO mode aganst a superior ISO team, and getting their clock cleaned on offesive boards are probably the two biggest reasons why they lost.
Warriors are tough because they have superior motion offense + superior iso offense. When their motion offense stops working, they iso Curry and depend on his 37 footers with hands in his face - those are like free throws for that guy.
Yeah, they're a bit like the '90s Bulls: the Bulls had their state-of-the-art (for the time) triangle, but when that broke down, they always had "Jordan finds his own." Now the Warriors have the latest state-of-the-art offense, but they always have "Curry finds his own" in their back pocket.
LOL! Folks take any isolated instance or stat and use it justify whatever is their existing view.....
it only works well fi you have competent role players. which rockets did have a few, but burned out in the playoffs. get him some real help
Yes, having better players leads to wins. It's why the Rockets had a beautiful offense in RA's last year but couldn't make the playoffs.
Harden is just as good as both those guys. It's just that it's just Harden. Did you see the Thunder when it was just Westbrook last year? People were calling him a ball hog.
This is true too. Thunder bigs can hit three's and mid range shots. Adams can't do either but he knows his role, play great D, rebounds, blocks defends and stays away from the foul line. He never tries to post up. Meanwhile Dwight has the same skill set and want to post up. Refuses to set a pick. Goal tends every time he blocks. He's at the foul line 6 or 7 times a game despite only shooting 48% form there and lets not get started on Brewer and Ariza. Not only does Harden not have another all star scorer but he has no competent role players either. The only one really is just Beasley.
I would enjoy seeing a legitimate ideological brawl between proponents of movement vs proponents of spacing. I see so many snarky comments about our offense, but consider this - we were 7th in offense, but what was our rank in offensive talent? You want the ball shared more, but who do you want it shared with? Harden's the only player I trust on offense. I'd rather maximize the opportunities of our best player than those of Corey Brewer. And for those of you who say we just need to increase the offensive talent - how are you going to do that with role player money? Sacrifice the defense probably, and our defense is already awful and we're losing Dwight
I thought that once Donovan went big with Ibaka, Adams and Kanter, Pop screwed up by trying to match with Aldridge and Duncan primarily....and Bognanovich (Sp?)....and probably should have dusted off the Red Rocket Bonner to stretch the floor, pulls some bigs out to the edge to open up the middle a bit. DD
OKC has 2 of the top 5 players in the NBA (arguable). If the Rockets had that, then I'm sure ISO-ball would work. Rockets don't even have 1 player that's considered top 5.
To be fair, WB is considered top 5 only because OKC had better season as a team than last year. Individually, he has been pretty much similar - with scoring down and assists up - but he wasn't cosidered top 5 in 2014-2015 whereas Harden was. The point is there's no significant difference in terms of talent between Durant, WB and Harden. Durant may have slight edge over the other two, but compared to WB Harden is more efficient offensive player as well as better in ISO situation. WB is obviosuly a better all-around player, but if we are talking about ISO, there is no reaon to think that WB can do it and still win games with other great offensive talent such as Durant but Harden can't.
They have 2 of the Greatest scorers in the their prime!!! The last 3 scoring champs will be in the WCF. 2 of them in OKC You don't need motion offense or a coach when you have 2 of the greatest scorers in the history of the game
That doesn't mean you completely change your offense and make your best player go away from what he does best. The Rockets were the #7 offensive team in the league. How would taking the ball out of Harden's hands and giving it to crappy players improve upon that?
