Isn't it nice having a real deal 3 and D wing again?

My only regret is we didn't come up with this idea 2 years ago. With Covington in and Capela out on last year's team and the year before, I think they beat the Warriors.

Ariza has not been good in 3 years IMO.

We still would need an upgrade.

The end of those season were always sad because we didn’t make the postseason but I legitimately like watching those 2010-12 squads. They hustled and played their butt off. I remember Clyde calling Scols the ice cream man. Courtney was the ultimate hustle guy. Chuck Hayes battle against Garnett. The development of Dragic and Lowry. I was so relieved when we traded Ariza though. His first season as a main scorer was just horrible basketball to witness...

The Houston Rockets’ switching defense has made them more active in the passing lanes and could elevate them to a top 10 defense post-All-Star break.

Rockets do not just need more switch everything 3-D players, they need better ones than they already have.

Rockets best switch defenders are Covington and Tucker. In 2017-2018 Rockets employed 3 elite switch everything defenders with Ariza-Luc-Tucker.

But without a true 5 (Capela) Rockets need not just one more elite switch everything 3-D player but TWO.

Neither House nor McLemore are elite switch defenders not because they lack willingness or effort but because they are physically limited - McLemore is 6'3 and 6'6 House has a very short wingspan of 6'8. Longer reach is essential to attack passing lanes, recover when beaten, rebound and rim protect. Generating disruptive plays on defense is key to new Rockets defensive focus.

Even if 6'9 Bruno (7'7 wingspan) pans out, Rockets still need another long athletic 3-D disruptor.

Preferably linebacker sized because these THICC players are strong enough to dislodge opposing bigs in post while also smothering smaller players on perimeter.

Opposing coaches for the last 3 seasons have consistently complained about how strong our wings are.

Still don't know who the hell is Bruno!?!?

Is that another Dwight Howard joke. What basketball player goes by Bruno!?!?
Thought Austin rivers was a coach's son!?!?

Shouldn't rivers be averaging at least one steal per game!?!?

Our owner is too cheap to pay for both.

I’m excited about the Covington move also but that’s a no for me.

A large part of the reason why we made this move was because of the WB trade. Also, you can’t easily dismiss or forget just how great we were when we had all 3 of Harden/CP3/Capela in the lineup at the same time. We were historically excellent in 2018. 65 wins is a top 20 regular season finish in the history of the NBA and it will be a Rockets franchise record that won’t be broken anytime soon. Covington is nice and all but that’s a slap to everyone and everything we achieved during our run before him.

This team with a healthy Gordon would beat the 65-win team, mainly because they would be able to exploit Capela.

if they exploited CC then they would just go with a true 5 out with that team. it's not like they didn't close games with small ball when all 5 guys were perimeter threats. that was their best lineups. that 65 win team was a beast on both sides of the floor
