I'm sorry, but I just cant see where he did what you state in this thread? He acknowledged multiple times in this very thread the existence of moderate Muslims and how he is rooting for them.

Sweet Lou I don't know if you are Muslim or not, but if not I admire your defense of the people of Islam which includes my family. Majority of my extended family are Muslim U.S. citizens that are educated productive members of society. These people should not be lumped together with Islamic extremists. I have had many conversations with my mother, my uncles, aunts, and cousins(they know I no longer practice) about the violent verses and about sharia law. The truth sounds harsh here but from my experience and first hand knowledge the only difference between an extremist and a moderate in Islam is the moderate just flat out ignores the not so peaceful verses and the mandate of Sharia Law. That is why Islam can be dangerous. In order to be a moderate you must flat out ignore parts of holy text and mandates.

I am not. I actually grew-up in a very "anti-Muslim" household as my parents were very bitter. You see my dad and his family were Hindu's living in what is now Pakistan. They literally barely escaped with their lives. My extended family as well bears a lot of resentment towards Muslims.

My experiences in my travels with Muslims has been very positive. I have found Muslims to be quite the opposite of how they are portrayed in the media. I have had many conversations with Muslims in villages around the world. Also, and even my parents acknowledge this, Muslims saved my dad's life and his family as they hid them during partition.

Now, I am not a sympathizer by any means. I just seek the truth. There are extremists out there. But for every "violent" verse in the Koran, there are violent verses in the Bible.

The difference is cultural evolution. Me personally, I am an atheist and think religion is a foolish endeavor. But I respect other people's beliefs and do not think religion is inherently evil or violent - rather it is people who are violent and use religion as a crux to justify their violence.

People need to understand what is going on in the Islamic world. Muslims can co-exist peacefully with the rest of the world. But what is happening in the middle east has more to do with the past then the present, and until people begin to understand the underlying dynamics, we're not going to move things in the right direction.

All of this except the interesting personal part about your family history, which may or may not be true (after all, you could be a proud black woman or a white trash neocon wannabe or a drifter with a mental disorder or a stripper in one of El Hitman's businesses) is really just generic blabla.

You didn't answer the question about where I ever supposedly lumped in moderates with fundamentalists. You can't really answer this without losing face even more, because I didn't. You, however, constantly do that.

Eh, go live in an Arab country for awhile, and I dare you to come back and try and tell me that they AREN'T radically different from us. I base what I said on my experience living with them for about a year. They do NOT think like us. They have different priorities. They have different goals than us. Their approach to problem solving is different from ours. You CANNOT get past the fact that 2/3 of them voted for Islamist parties the first time around. They may be disaffected with one of those parties right now, but the reason that they voted for them in the first place - that they wanted to see sharia implemented and put in place Islamic government - remains. They will just put the Salafists into power next time if given a chance. Something needs to change to avoid that.

I will not cut those statements out. I will not pussyfoot around the issue just to spare someone's feelings. My statements are true. We can have a perfectly rational discussion once everyone accepts them as such. :)

Nice try to piss me off by attacking my family history. It's rather pathetic, but won't work. Why you keep suggesting I am a black woman is just weird and frankly somewhat disturbing too.

You have lumped all Muslims together by attacking Islam as a violent religion - you are not just attacking extremists with those statements, you are attacking all Muslims. And you attack the moderate muslims who get pissed off at you as supporting extremists - so yeah, you are doing a lot of lumping.

No, you are doing the lumping. There are many moderate Muslims here on the forum and outside the forum who understand exactly that I am not attacking them.

Everyone needs to ignore ATW like they started to do for a few of his threads. Don't you guys realize yet that he gets off on threads like these?

    1. Post anti Muslim thread
    2. Start arguments with posters
    3. Lose argument
    4. Spew personal attacks about posters
    5. Wait a few days and start over again when his boner dies.

Classic. Liberals start losing the argument, so this is the next step...

Updating my ignore list now. :)

You mean the one Muslim who renounced his religion? I don't think that counts dude.

All I see you label anyone who disagrees with you as either a fanatic or a leftist.

You are either very aware of what you are doing - which is to inflame and antagonize, or you are completely brain-washed and blind. Which one is it?
