Exactly. If the Muslims didn't like the movie, they could have just not attended. They are seeking to impose their will on others, and they have no right to do that. They are extremely intolerant and even aggressively seek out confrontation, as seen in the video.

After seeing parts of the Arabic world (Egypt, Jordan) live in person, I truly believe those folks are decades if not centuries behind the rest of civilization. They still talk of Salah-ad-Din and his glorious conquest of the Crusaders. Arafat and Saddam Hussein even both had him as their only picture on their office walls.

SInce you're part-taking in the idiot talk, I'll call you out too.

Most Iranians hate Islam. When I say most, I mean those in politics are the only ones who do not hate Islam. lol

But it suits you and ATW to group loosely related countries together.

Interesting, you are aware that the only country who invaded any other country in the last 10 years has been the USA. The only country who is actively imposing its will on other countries has been the USA. Also Christians would never impose their will up on others.

That being said I despise people who overreact that much. And the attack was uncalled for.

Yeah terrible how some people still worship people who lived hundred of years ago. People from the West would never do that. It is not like whatever type of discussion you have in the USA someone will bring up what the Founding Fathers would have wanted.

Re-read my post. Iranians don't choose to have religious police.

The world is not yes and no. But the perception that it is 'yes or no' is unique to a specific type of person.

I re-read your post and it still reeks of stupidity and ignorance.

Pakistan, Saudi-Arabia and Iran all have a "religious police" or other types of religious persecution (blasphemy laws, etc.).

LOL. Good point. Maybe it is payback for all the germans at our beaches in the Summer. When I was young and went on vacation to the beaches in the Netherlands I talked German most of the time.

Now go back and tell us who said that. Neither bigtexxx nor I did. But it's still a fact that there is a religious police in Iran. You constantly keep arguing against the voices in your head.

Since my comment was about Iranians, and yours about Iran, your comment is unrelated to my comment, because Iran does not equal Iranians, you moron.

There are no pills for muscles.

Your reading comprehension is going down the drain. Side effect of being old and going through a traumatic experience?

I think Mathloom is trying to say that the presence of the religious police is against the wishes of a majority of Iranians who hate Islam and its suppression of Persian culture.

The religious police are only there because of the hard-liners in power whose extremist views clash with the majority of Iranians.

So, there is a deep disconnect between 'Iran the state' and 'Iran the people'.

Thanks, yes, I have been aware of what he has been trying to say, but I don't know why he is so argumentative about it - has anyone disputed that? Hard to say what exact percentage of Iranians is in favor of the government or not, since there are no fair elections, but I am not arguing against what he says...just wondering why he can't just make his point simply like you just explained it.

Interesting. Are you suggesting that proof of the people's backwardness is their praise of Saladin?

And if so, have you ever studied who Saladin was?

I read about him in high school and undergrad: he was a fascinating man with progressive ideas that people fearful of extremist Islam would appreciate..

An excerpt from Wikipedia [Saladin] :

I suppose it's not out of the question that hearing about the real world would be traumatic to you.

Don't worry, we're here for you.

Excuse my ignorance, but can you expand on this a little?

Saladin was a far better "follower" of Jesus than Richard the Lionheart ever hoped to be. He wasn't perfect by any measure, but so many times he was gracious and merciful, when his counterpart was anything but.
