Dude, I never said that YOU WILL BURN IN HELL, or anyone else for that matter...

I was just saying what the Quran says, Im not out there to pass judgements on anyone, and I think Ive made that quite clear.

Dude, Islam cannot be explained by me, Sane or Adeel. Please don't take what adeel is saying as a true representation of Islam. I am a Muslim and I refuse to believe it says all that crap about other people buring in hell for not being a Muslim.

    You are an ass dude.

Nobody is asking you to respect Islam, but the least you can do is stop disrespecting the Quran.

I don't think I've posted in this thread. I'd have to look back through all these pages and see, but edit your post, ROckets3. Please!

Below is a better explanation of what I TRIED to say...
    http://www.muhajabah.com/islamicblog/archives/veiled4allah/004930.php

According to actual Islamic teachings, a person who has been given a true and complete understanding of the basics of Islam and knowingly rejects it, then dies without repenting, is destined for hell.

But a person who has not received a true and complete understanding of the basics of Islam will be tested on Judgment Day. If they disobey God and fail the test, then they will go on to hell. On the other hand, if they obey God and pass the test, they will enter Paradise.

Notice the phrase "true and complete understanding of the basics". This applies not only to people who lived before the coming of Islam and people who have never heard of it at all, but also to people who may have heard about it but what they learned was not correct or was not enough information for them to understand the basis of the religion or to make a proper judgment of it.

Those who have faith in God will be rewarded, even if they didn't convert to Islam, as long the reason they didn't convert is that they never received a true and complete understanding of the basics of Islam, and as long as they obeyed what did come to them from God.

This is the meaning of the following passage from the Quran:

Surely those who have faith and the Jews and the Christians and the Sabaeans - whoever has faith in God and the Last Day and does good deeds - indeed their reward is with their Lord and they will neither fear nor grieve
This is Surah al-Baqarat verse 62, and Surah al-Ma'ida verse 69 is nearly identical in wording.

Hey loook we agree on something

and here is something else that might be interesting to you alll.

According to a hadith (saying attributed to the Prophet), Muhammad (pbuh) had predicted that after his death the Muslim ummah would be divided into 73 sects. Of these only one would be destined to enter heaven, and all the rest would be punished with damnation in hell. When asked by his companions which this one saved sect (firqa al-najiyya) would be, the Prophet is said to have identified it as that group that abided by the Qur’an and his own practice (sunnah).

Then do everyone a favor and quit talking about it. :p

    ;)

btw, I hate all afterlife beliefs. What is this "you" that lasts forever?

Imagine that you are a wave, a single wave on the surface of the vast ocean. The ocean represents the universe. You have a separate identity in that you have movement and form and an apparent life of your own. You may be a small ripple or you may be a giant tidal wave with terrible power at your disposal. There are many other waves each having its own characteristics - these represent all the other living beings in the universe. You are not the ocean and yet you only exist because of it. You are made of it and you cannot really distinguish the difference between the water making you up and the water forming the vast ocean itself. You cannot exist without the ocean and the ocean cannot exist without you because it is impossible to distinguish where you end and the ocean begins. Finally, after traveling over the surface of the ocean for a while, all the energies and conditions essential for your existence gradually decay away and you are unable to continue. This is not a tragedy. You simply merge back into the ocean from which you came. The ocean never loses you. Eventually, the effects you had on the ocean and a combination of thousands of other causes will produce the conditions for you to reappear on the surface. You will be a wave again. Not the same one of course…but not a different one either. This is the wonderful mystery of the eternity of life.

Maybe you should not be talking as if you know all the facts about Islam before saying all that crap then.

I am late to the topic. Sorry about that. But what I say might offend some people. Sorry about that also.

    MY OPINION.

I think RELIGION, not the belief in a god or gods, but in essence RELIGION is the basis of 99 percent of all evil done during the course of human history. Look up history. EVERY MAJOR WAR was started, conducted and carried out because someones belief that God is on their side or God is telling them to do things or God wants them to punish infadels. And to be honest, I believe that we are headed towards a dark period in human history with an all out war between crazy ass muslims fighting against crazy ass people who don't believe their way of life and people like me who are just crazy being caught in the middle. Exactly like what Christians did back during the Middle Ages and their little crusade.

I am a true believer in God. I love him/her. I truly pray on a daily basis. But (again, please forgive me if I offend you) I would rather burn in hell than to follow what one persons written word or one persons idea of what God is or what God looks like. I think its STUPID that people with any intelligence think a book can actually be written accurately, WORD FOR WORD over several thousands of years and then come and tell me that God wrote that book. I am like this. I have to see GOD sit at my desk on a computer typing out rules and regulations for my life for me to believe that He/She wrote it. You can say the same about nature in general. How do I know God created flowers and trees and animals and the like? Well, I believe only a GOD can create such variety in life. Could he send down books? Of course. But why would He/She do that knowing the future? Why would He/She do that if He/She knows that humans are basically moronic beings who would take things out of context and apply it to their benefit. Thats why I think RELIGION is r****ded. God did NOT create religion. Humans did.

In my opinion again, I believe that God speaks to every single person on this planet. Its the voice inside you that speaks to you if you listen. That guilt you feel when you do something bad and keeps you up at night is not Taco Bell. Its He/She reminding you that you are being an ass. If you are truly clean and unbiased to a religion as I am, that voice will come across LOUD AND CLEAR without you having to go and read a religious book or confirm a meaning or something. Its there. Listen to it. You don't have to be a Christian to hear that voice. Let me ask you something. Do you think babies are EVIL? Do you think babies think YOUR religion is flawed? Do you think a 5 year old thinks this or have these opinions? Of course not. You know when they develop the mindse that the Q'uran is the last book of the last religion? When a HUMAN talks to them about his or her religion and since the mind is still pure and innocent, they absorb that information and follow it not knowing the consequences later on in life. All the conflicts develop from this type of teaching. RELIGION and the teachings of it are PURE EVIL. What type of God tells people to tell another that he is going to hell because he isn't a good WHATEVER? I think its r****ded. Why cant you just say GOD is my religion and He/She guides my life and leads my way? Do you HAVE to go to church to get that feeling? Do you have to bounce back and forth like if you are in a fast moving rocking chair and memorize the Q'uran so that you can be a good human? Do you have to walk around with that little doohikie on your head to prove you are good, God fearing Jew? I think this is all HUMANLY created to CONTROL people.

That voice I tell you about inside is there if you are willing to put your biased in your pocket. I have built my life around this voice. I asked God for advice as to when to have my children. Listen, I had my first daughter when I turned 30. You know what? My parents told me for YEARS before that to have my kids early because its the way you do it so that you can have energy to raise them. Why have them old so that you tire out and can't keep up? Backwards thinking, right? Same for religion. OLD. PLAYED. TIME TO END THE WAY PEOPLE THINK ABOUT IT. Don't get me wrong like I said before. I DO love, fear and respect God. But I don't have to go to church for it. I listen for guidance inside of me. I pray for wisdom. I ask for forgiveness. I pray for the health of my family and children. I pray for peace. I ask God for strength when I have 100 degree fever like I do today yet I had to come to work because there is a merger going on that I have to analyze numbers for. I never thank Him/Her for helping the Rockets win a championship or thank Him/Her for helping me get a new car. God is guidance and comfort and peace. Not a genie in a bottle or words in a book. I sometimes ignore that voice. Thats me being an idiot. But the 100 percent of the time I listen it has never failed me ONCE. EVER.

Finally, let me say that my stepdad is Egyptian. He is Muslim. He knows the Q'uran back and forth and side ways and has been to Mecca 8 times. He tells me all the Muhammad things and I tell him the same thing I type here. No religion be it Christian, Muslim, Jewish...whatever is ANY good. They are the root of most problems caused during world history and as soon as we as humans evolve out of this mindset that God has books for us to follow or that God has a set of rules for each religion or that God commands us to blow people up or crucify them because they don't believe, then I think humanity will be a better, happier and more glorious in general JUST LIKE GOD SAYS IT SHOULD BE WHEN HE DECIDED TO MAKE ALL OF US.

    Again, my opinion.

Nice to see you back, Almu. Stick around. I'm agnostic, myself, but I find these topics facinating.
