Hey stupid. A copy cannot be an original, ok? And I know its simply inconceivable to your brainwashed mind that someone could change the Quara'an, and that this conversation is going nowhere. However, as I've pointed out, multiple early Muslim scholars wrote extensively about this period in Mohammed's life. The term 'satanic verses' didn't come about until later, but there is a substantial body of work that indicates this was the position of Mohammed. Why? Because he needed allies when he was on the run, and one way to do that was to placate locals by including their idols in his rhetoric. Later, when he was powerful, he needed to come with some reason why he'd gone against Allah.

Sane, are you ok? The quotes are followed by Dawood because that's the source of the quote - ie what book it came out of. Dawood is the author of that book. Quara'an is there because that's the passage he's talking about in the quote. I'm sorry if you don't understand. Pick up an MLA handbook.

You need to understand that the only thing your "scholars" had to work with was one quote.

POINT IS, it says the Devil tried to play with it, but was unable. Are you implying that the devil has ultimate power over his creator?

The event is that Satan tried, but failed to do so in the Qura'an.

However, it is nice that you ADMIT that Dawood's quote is not from the Qura'an and in fact has no base in the Qura'an other than that one single quote, which states that God re-affirmed his message.

Mostly on animal skins and stuff, but when they needed something right away, they would write it down anywhere, then write it down in a proper place later. Although they were not all in one book before he died, they were all gathered in one place and studied extensively.

There was no ONE original before Muhammad died. When he died, the seven originals were created.

 

you are saying that the probability of all us who dont follow islam the way YOU interpret it burning in hell is very good. you still assert that all non-muslims go to hell. that is just crazy and disrespectful. i thought islam taught respect for others, but here you are claiming that the rest of us will burn in hell for no other reason than that we are not muslims. mother theresa is in hell cause she isnt muslim? ghandi is in hell cause he isnt a muslim?

if anything, you have reinforced my "wierd misconceptions" about islam, a religion that i used to have alot of respect for.

 

Ok. So the Quara'an was first dictated to Muhammad by Gabriel from Allah, who wrote it down on animal skins and stuff, and some other people memorized it. Then when he died (as I understand it) he left the order it was to compiled in. The 2nd caliph/head dude then had seven complete transcripts written out (2 of which still exist -one in tashkent and one in Egypt). And there have been NO changes since then.

Is that correct?

 

im not going around condemming those who dont believe like me to a lake of fire. it is arrogant to claim that your religion is the one and all others are sinners. if it works for you, great, but you must acknowledge that there are other paths. otherwise i will say you are arrogant.

i dont think that god wants us judging each other like adeel does. im pretty sure that he can do that on his own. i gave my OPINION while adeel says that his religion dictates that all non-muslims, even if good people, will burn in hell. i dont use my religion as an excuse to justify murder, oppression, intolerance or who does or doesnt go to hell.

personally, i think that we will all go to heaven (even the muslims). i dont believe in the concept of hell. my god is all forgiving and compassionate. thats why jesus rocks!
