Does anyone else think Almu might have finally killed this thread, because nobody wants to reply without having read the last post, but nobody wants to read the last post because it is so damn long? :D

The religons of the world are the ejaculations of a few imaginative
men. But the quality of the imagination is to flow, not to freeze.

The sight of the red morning sun rise may come to stand for truth and faith to one man; and he may believe it should stand for the same realities to every other man. But another man may prefer as naturally the symbol of a mother and child, or a gardener and his bulb, or a jeweller polishing a gem. Either of these are equally good to the person to whom they are significant.

Let us listen for the voice within, be conductors of the whole river of electricity, have universal signs instead of these village symbols and this trite rethoric - and we all shall be the gainers.

    Chiles,

I just think I broke it down really good!

But seriously, I felt that I had to just declare that religion is evil and belief in THE GOD or whatever your HEART leads you to believe is not.

This whole book theory that God writes books to confuse EVERYONE on the planet is ridiculous. My book is true. Yours is not? The last religion? Why is that?

Give me a break. If I am to burn in hell for my belief, I will make sure to wear shorts, a tank top and take my bottle of water.

And I agree with you, Stoke. Well said.

Why is it impossible to get it through to you that Muhammad couldn't read or write?

Gabriel dictates it to Muhammad, Muhammad memorizes, Muhammad dictates, someone writes it down instantly to not forget.

The order in which we read it is the order in which it was dictated by Gabriel.

When Muhammad PBUH died, they didn't want the Qura'an to change, because God said it shouldn't... He said it should not change at all. It is a sin to change God's words. So to avoid any single change in the Qura'an, the writings were gathered in the order they were descended, and 7 Qura'ans were created. All identical. One of these is in Tashkent, and one is in Egypt. I will turn Christian today if you find a difference between a Qura'an you buy today and those two Qura'ans.

This is the truth - fact of the matter is, I will never be able to explain it to you fully in a short amount of time. However, if you read the Qura'an, and see how all the information weaves into each other, you will understand better.

I try my best to explain what I know. Several times in these threads, when I didn't have knowledge of a certain topic, I have said just that - I don't know.

    Rockets03,

Have you read the entire Qura'an and how do you justify not agreeing with some things in the Qura'an (if you don't mind me asking)?

A bit of a tangent, but...

I've noticed that some muslim posters write PBUH after Muhammad's name, and I was just wondering exatly what that meant. Is it simply to differentiate between the prophet and any other guy who happens to be named Muhammad?

    The Messenger (SalAllahu alaihi wasallam) said;

إفترقت اليهود على احدى وسبعين فرقة،
وافترقت النصارة على إثنتين وسبعين فرقة،
وتفترق أمتي على ثلاث وسبعين فرقة
“The Jews were divided among themselves into seventy one or seventy two sects, and the Christians were divided among themselves into seventy one or seventy two sects. And My Ummah will be divided among itself into seventy three sects.” Abu Dawood, at-Tirmidhi, al-Hakim and Ahmad among several others, reported this Hadith. At-Tirmidhi said; “Hadeethun Hassanun Sahih

ثنتان وسبعون في النار. قيل: يا رسول الله
    من هم؟ قال: الجماعة
“Seventy two in hell fire and one in the Jannah: that is the 'Jama`ah.'”

    Peace Be Upon Him.

We write it after all the prophet's names, Jesus and Moses included...

we are supposed to give respect to the prophets, all of them, but Mohammad(pbuh) basically was the last and the one we should give salaam to. In english this translates to, Peace Be Upon Him.

And for any other prophet too we use that, but unfortunately while typing its not used as much, but when speaking it will be, Adam "Alaihisalaam", Ibraham "Alaihisalaam", Muhammad "sallalahu Alaihissalam"

That's interesting, I'll have to take that up with someone tomorrow...

However, you know that in the Qura'an it says not to jusge ANY of the sects, and basically treat them like your own and God will judge the sects on judgement day, right? So we shouldn't differentiate between us.

O yes, im not judging. I never even judged Rocket03. I just asked him if he was ismaili or not.

It is allah's job to judge, mine is just to spread my knowledge.

    Almu and Texas Stoke,

If, for one second, I stopped believing that God is the source of my religion, then I would be just like you.

Not that I'm trying, and maybe unable, but if someone could prove to you that the Qura'an or the Bible is precisely God, your creator's, book.... then wouldn't you follow that religion?

The difference lies at the source of all religions. If you can prove it's God's, then you will believe.... If you can't, then you will do whatever you like...

Personally, MY opinion, in MY religion, I think GOOD people will go to heaven eventually... Mother Teresa, Gandhi, etc... They will go to heaven. But it would be extremely unfair that, if the Qura'an is the truth, they go to heaven without being punished for not seeking the correct religion.... As opposed to someone who seeked the truth, found the truth, and applied the truth from there on....

But then again, my opinion won't really count when it matters...

Wow, that was refreshing. I looked at the moniker, say your name, and your post DIDN'T include the word "indoctrinated" .

Sane, do you also believe in this whole deal with the virgins that are waiting for you in heaven if you do something good according to the Koran (spelling)?

Since you're the genius apparently, answer me why I would believe in parts of the Qura'an instead of the whole thing?

What I DON'T believe is that suicide bombings is "something good".

You have the whole lot of "virgins" waiting for you, but your wife or husband is so incredibly beautiful to you.... Basically, God will create a partner for you such that you will never be satisfied from even looking at him/her... Your partner will be so beautiful that you will not really worry about the "virgins"...

Aside from that, you will never ever really get over seeing God....

Oh, and let me clarify that you don't do something good and inherit a bunch of virgins...

My understanding is that everyone in the top level of heaven gets "it"?

adeel, correct me if i'm wrong..
