Re-read. The only ship which violated the quarantine was the Bucharest, which refused to stop and was not forced to. Regarding the Lebanese ship, we stop and board ships all the time currently. We currently do it to Iranian ships in the Gulf all the time. It involves them letting you on board to examine their manifests. That's like 1/2 the job of the Coast Guard. If the Lebanese ship had zig-zaged and not slowed, the US was not allowed to sink it. That doesn't qualify as use of force. And the use of small explosives was authorized, but not as a way to attack the submarine, rather just to rattle them a bit. Thus making them big firecrackers. Again, in my estimation firecrackers do not equal the use of force. Finally, talking about the use of force doesn't equal the use of force. And while I'm sure he would have used force eventually, the point is that he did everything to avoid it, refrained from saber rattling, and tried to find a way out that didn't involve violence.

As of now, Iran has a much better record than the U.S. Ahmedinijad wasn't far off when he labeled the CIA as a terrorist organization. The CIA has in the past overthrown democracies, including Iran. After the revolution in which they overthrew the U.S. planted shah, the U.S. funded none other than Suddam Hussein with money and weapons to attack Iran. The irony of the situation is that we went after Suddam because of the weapons we supplied him. You understand why Iran is highly distrustful of the U.S.?
