How does pointing out why people are acting this way contribute to the problem?

And my ass we don't have a right to rag on them... nobody is immune to criticism... nobody has the right to not be made fun of. (wait, where have I heard this point before? I think it was in some comedy show... with cartoon kids in Colorado... damn, I can't think of the name of it)

And That is alot of folx.
In some parts of this country . . .not a small part. . .yes. . they would be seen as heroic.

The issue is not Terrorist, it is the generalization of all Muslims are Terrorist.

Wow way to generalize your fellow American citizens. The Tea Party Activists will definitely not condone such behavior. It is the media that is giving these people a bad name. True I think some of these people are simply just upset at Obama for no other reason than him being a liberal Democrat. However these are your normal hard working Americans who are opposed to big Government and huge Govt Spending. Thats it! OK let's not get off topic here.

Also no one made a generalization that all Muslims are Terrorists.

I think you have it quite backwards. I do think that the joke of southpark and also the majority of America's views is that ALL Terrorists ARE Muslim. Not alll Muslim are Terrorists.
    There is a big difference.

Actually I want to correct that and say MOST terrorists are Muslim. Or at least they identify themselves as being Muslim even though the rest of Islam might not see them as Muslim.

i mean in this thread, its fine when you're just making fun of them, but to say someone is wrong based on what they believe in isn't right. Christians believe in jesus and the jews don't, is it ok to hate them because they don't believe in jesus?

Its ok to rag on them for their reaction, but don't criticize them for their beliefs.

There is a way and has been a time where all religions peacefully coexisted and tolerance was emphasized. Think of the Moorish rule in Spain. Think of the house of wisdom in Baghdad. In a day when Islam is thought of as uneducated and backward, you look at the time when they flourished under rule and you see how they bought all scientist, philosophers into the house of wisdom and made advances in those fields unheard of. This is the true essence of Islam as well as all the religions to ultimately preach to live in peace, to live in harmony while keeping true to the values and ethics with their respective faiths.

The Quran states that any innocent life taken is worth 1000 sins or along those lines and is unacceptable, it talks about equality and respect for women. So when will we realize that these terrorists are not just an enemy to America, they are an an enemy to Muslims and our true beliefs as they manipulate passages given for a context of a time, era, and issue or war or conflict of that time, and use it to promote their own agenda and in that kill other Muslims and most importantly innocents. As I said, its just as the KKK accepts white supremacy and consider themselves the true Christians. Simply can not let a minority(despite them getting the most mass media attention) represent a religion of over a billion people. The leaders in Islam are speaking, yet the media is not entirely covering of focusing it, its just better news for this and its very irresponsible to only get one small side, albeit necessary, but to ignore the other side is very misleading and led to the common perception as it has been today. Another leader in Islam although not accepted by the entire faith, but certainly worth reading and viewing some of his interviews is the Aga Khan who talks about the clash of ignorance from both sides .

South Park creators warned over Muhammad depiction

Islamists have warned the creators of TV show South Park they could face violent retribution for depicting the Prophet Muhammad in a bear suit.

A posting on the website of the US-based group, Revolution Muslim, told Matt Stone and Trey Parker they would "probably wind up like Theo Van Gogh".

The Dutch film-maker was shot and stabbed to death in 2004 by an Islamist angered by his film about Muslim women.

A subsequent episode of the cartoon bleeped out references to Muhammad.

The posting gave details about a home Stone and Parker reportedly co-own.

It also listed the addresses of their production office in California and the New York office of South Park's broadcaster, Comedy Central.

"We have to warn Matt and Trey that what they are doing is stupid and they will probably wind up like Theo Van Gogh for airing this show," warned the posting, written in the name of Abu Talhah Al-Amrikee.

"This is not a threat, but a warning of the reality of what will likely happen to them," it added.

Mr al-Amrikee later told the Associated Press the posting was not an incitement to violence. It had been published to raise awareness of the issue and to see that it did not happen again, he added.

A Comedy Central spokesman said the network had no comment.

In the 200th episode of South Park, broadcast in the US and UK last week, Muhammad appeared several times inside a bear suit. Figures from other religions were also depicted, including a drug-snorting Buddha and Jesus watching p*rnography.

Wednesday's 201st episode saw any spoken references to Muhammad bleeped out, while a prominent banner stating "censored" was used in the programme.

The images of the prophet in a bear outfit were substituted with Santa Claus in the same costume.

Speaking in an interview with the Boing Boing website before the 200th show aired, the South Park team defended the scenes.

"We'd be so hypocritical against our own message, our own thoughts, if we said, 'okay, well let's not make fun of them because they won't hurt us,'" said Parker.

"It matters to me when we talk about Muhammad that I can say we did this... and I can stand behind that," Stone added.

"I don't think it's going to change the world, but this is how it's got to be for our show."

In 2006, Comedy Central banned Stone and Parker from showing an image of Muhammad in an episode that was intended to be part of a comment on the controversy caused by the publication of caricatures of the prophet by a Danish newspaper.

An earlier episode, Super-Best Friends (2001), contained an image of Muhammad but passed without comment.

"It was before the Danish cartoon controversy, so it somehow is fine," Stone told Boing Boing.

"Then, after that, now that's the new normal. We lost. Something that was okay is now not okay."

Muslims consider any physical representation of their prophet to be blasphemous. The caricatures published in Denmark sparked mass protests worldwide.

I have been warning people about this and have been called names (Muslim-hater, etc.). I'm telling you that if we do not speak up and defend our freedom, they are going to push this intolerant approach and their attempts at intimidation further and further down our throat.

That is completely thugish tactics to "Warn someone" and post their address etc.

That should be implied assualt and those people should be prosecuted.

    I 100% agree.
