If you watch the CNN interview on the organization that called out South Park, you will realize that these are the same idiots who "are ok with Americans dying on 9/11" and believe that, "the Quran does not just allow terrorism but explicitly condones it." But wait, it gets better, they finish off the interview by saying that they are not advocating violence...wtf???

Give me a break man...I'm a Muslim as well and I have read the same passages as most other Muslims, but this crap about issuing death threats or threats of any kind to people of other faiths and belief practices because they do not follow something that you do not believe is incredibly stupid.

If you are a Muslim, and you believe that portraying Muhammad or any of the prophets is wrong, where the hell have you been for the past ~1700 years? Billions of people across the world have a similar image in their mind of Jesus, Mary, etc. Why the inconsistency in outrage? Do Muslims not believe in Jesus? Of course they do. Do they not revere him? Of course they do. Then what gives?

This inconsistency easily reveals that their anger and outrage is not from Islam but merely from ignorance, stupidity, etc.

Most people are right in saying that Islam has not changed too dramatically since its inception; you cannot say the same for how it is portrayed and who has the loudest voice at the time.

    Yeah.

Lets hope msnbc doesn't stumble upon this place.

A donnymost religion diatribe will surely provide material for month long series. And they'll need to do more hiring if there's a Sammy vs PRC event going on.

And should they ever read the comments section of any newspaper site, or, heaven forbid, yahoo sports, this false sense of security we've been having about relative civility will be shaken forever.

RevolutionMuslim.com is a seriously cool web domain, though. I'm sure there were high-fives all around when that one was registered.

My brother-in-law is Muslim and Muslim people are getting tired of being associated with terriorists.

I've gotten to know a lot of Muslims and I must say majority of them are very peaceful people. I have to admit it changed my opinion of Muslim people.

I agree. I have a lot of Muslim students and on the whole they are very respectful, sweet, humble, and hard working. I find far more people that are of low character calling themselves Christian than I ever have with Muslims.

Actually, the stuff I post here about religion rarely sees the light of day in mainstream media. It would be pretty awesome if the media looked more critically at religion in society though, I would love that. And it would definitely be a discussion worth having.

Why are so many Muslims so easily "outraged" and "disgusted" - and why do you choose stronger words to condemn a cartoon than a death threat?

    Idiot.

    Repped.

Did not read a threat in the Original post. . . merely a warning.
Not unlike when I see a person 'sassing' a cop . . .I tell them
Man, check out the DONT TASE ME BRO guy . . See TASED GRANDMA . .See TASER Pregnant woman
I am not threatening . . .just warning you . . .isht happens
    and
If I were to say that . . .how many would come out denouncing police brutality?

    You act like it wasn't.
So now. . . Intentionally pissing people off for laughs and cash . . .is equal to the Civil Rights Movement. I got ya OttoMan Empire

They set out to piss folx off
    Folx got pissed off . . . .
    Was it not expected?

Taking a ***** on folx's religions is serious business.
I don't think they should be killed for it . . or even harmed.
.. but it is not my religion
and some of those whose religion it is. . .
have made it pretty clear their feelings on the matter.
I simply respect their wishes and don't do things to intentionally provoke them.

I try to RESPECT their Religion, Feelings, and Beleifs.
    but . . .
I guess because they are Moslems .. they have nothing we should. . i dunno . . RESPECT!

And A Modest Proposal was just some random English guy playing for cheap laughs and profits, right? Or maybe, just maybe, there is a little thing called political satire that has been fundamental to Democracy since before Greek dudes knew how to put on a toga.

I consider free speech rights to be the most important right in the country, personally. Without those rights, you wouldn't know who MLK was. Some redneck would have popped him in the back of the head with a .45 the first time he started getting "uppity".

If we are paying attention to people demanding irrational respect and imposing its observation on me, shouldn't we pause for all those Southern white men who are so offended by a black man sitting at the same lunch counter as them?

I mean, aren't the Christian Identity dude's religious hatred, rage and revulsion just as real as the Muslim's?

The thing is, you don't see a good, peaceful, and hardworking Muslim portrayed on the news. Often times you see hostile, terroristic Muslims who are just plain crazy. Being a Muslim myself, I hate the association with terrorists. There was an instance where a group of others and myself were praying outside (not of my home but I believe it was a restaurant) as the cars drove by, people would scream "Get out of our country" "Go bomb someone else" and other hateful comments. I just hate this religion being conceived as terroristic. And about the South Park thing....What good will threatening them do? It will only add to the basis of their view.

You are quite correct. South Park is quite the force for social change.

    Is that not what happened?

I don't wipe my *ss with the conferate flag in Virginia
I don't parade around Klan Rallys.
As long as they stay over there not bothering me. . . I will give them that 'respect'. When it encroaches on me . . . then I will worry about it.
That does not mean I get to piss on every white person . . . .

This is not an attack on Jihadist .. . from my understanding . .doing that is an Attack on All of Islam. [If someone who is a Moslem wishes to correct me on this assumption . . I apologize for my misunderstanding] Attack a whole religion . .. is liken to 'hate' speech.

But . . alas. . . maybe my understanding of the level of offense this is. . is out of proportion.

Creators of a genuine pop cultural running for a decade plus equals A-list celebrity. Imho.

And Rocket River....Jesus, man....maybe I've missed it over the years, but I'm shocked at your point of view.

Thank you. I am relieved that someone else bothers to point out the idiocy in his last few posts on this thread.

do you find it sad that some religions are more immune than others? it's interesting how it is socially permissible and even popular to "****" on religions like scientology, wicca, or satanism.

No one is above satire. Just because they're arrogant enough to think they are doesn't mean they have a different set of rules than anyone else.

    This is America.

How many times must we clarify on this board that all those verses are taken out of context? Do a little research yourself, pick up an English translation of the Quran and read the bits/verses before, after and in between each one of the verses listed on that site.
For your convenience, here is an online link to translations. I beg all of you to do as I say and then post here what you think about it.

I simply don't see the value of intentionally provoking people
then turning around and acting surprised or appalled when they feel Provoked into Action.

Religion is a powerful thing. Involved powerful Emotions.
Nothing to be 'played' with . . .

i.e. The whole Pissed Christ thing . . . [the photo of a crucifix in a jar of urine]
Pissed off alot of people. . . got alot of pub . . .which was the whole point
basically [and literally] pissed on folx's religion . . . then want to be shocked and surprised when people were pissed

As Stated. I don't beleive that these folx should be harmed in any way
    but
I don't think taking a piss on Islam is all that cool either.

I guess I am a bit shocked at the number of people that are quite ok
with . . . what I am sure *some* members of Islam may interpret as
'Hate' speech and at the lesser end disrespect

My concern is.. . because it is Islam. . . because they are Moslems. . .
well it is ok to piss on them . . . it is Free Speech.

Scientologist were pissed at them for pissing on their Religion

My question is. . . Why are people surprised that people are pissed about this? From why I have seen and read they have *never* been cool with this type of thing. They make an effort to say they are not cool with this type of thing.

If you say you don't like smoking .. and I blow smoke in your face . . .
Is that just Freedom of Expression and you are not allowed to get angry about it.

    So to be spoken plainly.
    1. If anyone harms these folx because of this. . they are WRONG . .VERY WRONG.
    2. I think these folx are Wrong for disrespecting this Religion.

Ottomaton -QUESTION: Do you Equate the Christian Identity dudes religion to be the same as Islam?
because to me . . . The Christian Identity dudes are a part . . a radical part of Christianity and one would not .. should not condemn the whole religion behind the acts of a few.

I will leave it be . . . I am not Muslim. I reckon it is not my job to defend their beliefs. Maybe not even my place.
