If he has elite court vision to go with his speed, he may be able to get past the size and shooting issues.

Maybe Dogus Balbay can do the same.

Can someone explain how rights to these players works.

If he blows up in summer league, do we have his rights, or can anyone sign him?

What if two teams want to invite the same player, how does that work?

In my experience with 'My Player' on NBA 2k10... Summer League doesn't mean the team owns your rights. If you do good in Summer League then you get invited to training camp, preferably by the team that you played for in Summer League because they should have the best scouting reports on you.

Again.. I got this from a game so I have no idea.

Whats happening is that he's trying to use brooks as bait for one of the big names. With our potential lineup, we won't need a scoring point guard. Lowry would fit perfectly.

If and when they trade Brooks, I highly doubt that undrafted rookie Ishmael Smith will be our backup PG. They'll go out and get a player with more experience that can legitimately handle a starting role should Lowry miss time.

Well, could Brooks, as he was drafted, legitimately handle a starting role behind Alston? Probably not.

If this kid showcases well on the summer league, I wouldn't be surprised if we signed him to a 10-day contract (and based on that) then as a player for the Rockets.

When Brooks was drafted, we had 4 or 5 PGs on the roster.

I honestly don't believe that Morey has any intention of going into the season with this guy as the only back up, regardless who the starting PG is.

In fact, my guess is that this is purely a move for Summer League and a showcase for the Vipers. I don't see this guy being an NBA player based on the available facts and data.

I see your point, but I believe that there's an x-factor. I think chase is more than capable of taking some of that time as the point. Lowry/Chase/Ishmael.

He wishes he could shoot like Rafer Alston.

Ishmael Smith is a worse free throw shooter than Larry Smith(Mr. Mean). Ishmael Smith shot 22% from the college 3p line.

Guys who can't shoot don't often get drafted - especially not when they are tiny!

LOL, why was he talking about how he could pull up for 3, on a 5 on 0, and drain it?

The Rockets's depth and youth might've scared away prospects.
