Ish drops dimes and he is super quick... I was sad to see him go when he was originally here, glad he's back!
Well Ish did shoot an amazing .043 from 3 point range last year and .564 from the FT line and he's only 26, so it's obvious why we are picking him up.
1. http://espn.go.com/espnradio/grantland/player?id=11219284 Bill Simmons asked Demarcus Cousins who the fastest player in the NBA in yesterday's BS Report. Cousins replied, "Ish Smith." 2. I posted this about the Dorsey signing, and feel that it is applicable here, too: NBA teams can carry up to 20 players under contract in the offseason. There isn't any reason for the Rockets not to sign as many minimum wage players as it wants to fill up all 20 of these slots. There is no limit on how many minimum wage contracts you can sign and you are not using any of the actually limited resources (MLE, BAE, TPE) and the Rockets are already working above the cap and are well short of the luxury tax level. So, besides paying off the guaranteed $ owed to a few minimum wage guys that you will have to cut later as the season starts and the roster size gets down to 15, there is no impact to these signings-- Specifically, there is no impact whatsoever on the team's ability to acquire a bigger $ player wit its other tools at all.
LOL - in all seriousness, training camp body probably. He wasn't TERRIBLE for the Suns last season. And GUYS, THIS is the PG move that Drew was alluding to!
I wonder why they gave him guaranteed money. I feel like it's pretty unlikely they waste an actual roster spot on him when the season starts.
This is like some kind of Japanese anime, everybody goes out of home team to train in their mountains and all come back a few years later with new power-ups.
