Could we have had IT instead of MCW?

I think he wants 20 FGA per game, so probably not. If his head was in the right place and he was healthy, he could really help us.

I thought he was going to Orlando. He won't get the shots he wants in Denver. He's a throwback scorer, from 90s and 2000s. Which is a bad thing in the modern NBA, especially with emphasis on offensive efficiency, spacing, and pace.

his defense is terrible and may be unplayable against the best teams (but most free agents aren't going to teams worried about beating the best teams), but his offense when he was healthy was extremely good. not just high volume scoring, but very high TS%. he wasn't just a chucker like a 90's guy. he legit had an offensive season up there with some of the best in terms of points and TS%. and straight dominated 4th quarters.

Interesting you said "Yes". How did you know?

As regards to why, why did we want MCW? Same reason applies here.

This makes a lot of sense. No way we give him 20 FGA per game. He will be great to be brought off the bench to back up CP3 and while hiding his own defense deficiency. Oh well, not with 20 FGA.

Essentially they received the same minimum amount from their respective teams. In each situation IT would struggle to backup better guards and earn minutes outside of being a "6th man" role.

And we chose MCW because we would rather have length and defense from a possible backup guard than 20 minutes of absolute 0 defense and all offense.

I think the league recognizes that "Celtics IT" is gone forever. He's a bench player from now on. Not even necessarily a 6th man.

Man, has there ever been a bigger crater in one year than this?

From 2nd team all NBA looking for a huge contract to getting any job he can for league minimum in less than a year.

He's seriously gonna become the hallmark for turning down a big offer. Anytime somebody does ...IT thought he could make more too, see how that turned out.

I don't think the celtics offered him a deal. Playing hurt probably hurt him more than anything.
