Always thought he was the 3rd best PG after Bledsoe and Dragon. He had a breakout year last season but was it an outlier? Celts have all season to see if it was, if he falls back to his career avg. I might let him go.

IT is not worth $40M/year. One of the most overrated players of last season. Truly atrocious defense. Bad enough to almost completely make up for any and all value he provides offensively.

Be happy ur in the east. In the west, ur team is out in the 1st round. That being said, he deserves more than what hes getting now.

If he was just two inches taller the Celtics would be begging him to sign the max... as a short guy I hope he gets it. He has proven he's worth it!

I agree that your way would be ideal, but it's not like they can just go acquire 2 or 3 top-5 type players. I think the model is the Detroit Pistons vs the Lakers. The Lakers were built around the best-players-in-the-game model with Shaq and Kobe. Detroit countered that with a well balanced team that played brilliant team basketball. Stevens is the perfect coach to try to emulate that. Will it work? Probably not - but that's true of the Rockets, OKC, etc strategies too - Golden State is just that good. But I don't think it's a bad strategy at all for Boston. The mistake teams make in every sport is just trying to emulate the best team, but what really happens is that you just become a worse version of that team. I think a better way to go is come up with a totally different team design and see if that can work.

They clearly will give him the max after passing on fultz. Good for Thomas, always underrated throughout his career.

If Mike Conley could get max, IT should get max too.

There's no chance in hell that he takes a paycut now that they traded his BF for a white guy!

So by your logic, nobody deserves the max unless you play for Golden State or Cleveland because let's be honest, those are the only two teams that's in contention right now.

From a Top 10 player just over a year ago to making the league minimum

    How the mighty has fallen

You reading this, Clint? Better that take $90 million offer or you'll be signing minimum like Noel and DMO and Thomas

i know we all selfishly want clint to take our offer so we can win, but dude would be crazy to take the qualifying offer and bet on himself at his age. set yourself, your kids, and your grandkids up and then bet on yourself when you're 27 and are insanely rich. betting on yourself this early is how "keeping it real goes wrong."
