this move is actually a win now type of pick. Morey doesn't want to take any salary and possibly use him as trade bait if his stock rises. He's looking to clear up room and taking in salary for a 2nd rounder wouldn't make sense.

    Define contribute .

To contribute for us (given where we want to be) would be to be a rotation player on a championship caliber team.

As a rookie this is nearly impossible.
At draft spot 43 , it's almost certainly impossible .

We are doing exactly what we should be doing as a title contender in the draft who just has mid to low second rounders--(I know the Warrior/Cavalier distortion). We are going for A Euro Stash big man and other players with high potential hoping for some luck and or future major player development

It needs no defining nor qualifications.

    Contribute. Anything.

What does this kid contribute? A body to probably get the snot beat out of him for summer league play?

I don't care if he's a rookie. I don't care where he's from. I don't care where he's drafted. Kyle Wiltjer came in and contributed a player who had a professional level skill.

Patrick McCaw averaged 12 minutes per game in the playoffs as a rookie and was drafted 38th.

Cause they're a greatest team of all time contender with eminent garbage time - they could have put Patrick Star from Spongebob Squarepants out there and still whooped everyone.

Hopefully between him and Zhou Qi one of our seven footers pans out. We need depth on the frontline badly.

Daryl doesn't look that hapy in that pick...maybe cause the kid wants to stay here this season lol

In fact the guy in the pick is like "woo...i'm here to stay boyz!", while Morey is like "ehm...stfu plz"

Ironic since the Rockets are hoping he can wait to get started.

Finally a worthy successor to #55.

I wonder if he is actually one person, or the collective identity of twin brothers, Harten and Stein.

We need to give him a nickname already. How about I-Stein? We have a genius on our team.
