If he's doing that while holding Tony Parker to 6 points, I'd hesitate to think what he can do once he stops looking like a rookie.

His fg% for the past 4 games does not look rookie-like.

His defense was not a factor against Stephen Curry though. Curry lit him on fire.

I was at the game and as Steph Curry is my favorite player I watched him quite a bit. For the most part Canaan played solid defense, regardless of what the box score says. A few of Curry's points came against other defenders as well.

You was at the game, but didn't see that one play where Curry shook the **** out of Canaan with the behind the back crossover dribble. Clutchfans stay on some undercover biasedness. At least Bill Worrell is open about his Rockets biasedness .......

exactly, he got some points on busted plays, and also terry was guarding him at times...his one on one D is good.

well im sure curry has shook every pg he has played against at least once. Cannan played much better defense then i thought he would, yes curry went for 30 points but seeing him in person saturday, he was incredible. I can now see why espn and others have him in the top 5.

You are so right. I was at or watched every college game he played. Only twice in 4 years did he fail to deliver in a big moment. (closing seconds against Butler in 2010 & Belmont in 2013).

I am going to eat my crow early on Canaan. Never had a problem with his offense, it was his turnovers and willingness to play D that had me concerned. Even this early, willing to admit I was wrong about Canaan - he has been nothing but a positive and major contributor to Rockets historic start, especially with Bev out.

as Curry does against everyone in the league.

However, did you see that time when Curry couldn't keep up with Canaan in a drive to the basket? Canaan could outmuscle Curry on those drives.

Curry lit up at the end of the game when Rockets lost their focus. Up to that point, sans a rim protector, everyone was doing his best to stay in front of their man.

Premise: Kevin Johnson dunked on Hakeem.
Conclusion: Hakeem is a bad defender.

    True or False?

He already has the 3ball going for him, the strong drives to the basket. He's trying to imitate the eurostep too.

But nah, he still ain't got the dance moves of Harden.

What are they doing shooting midrange shots? They should be practicing game shots. :p

He is doing exactly that. He's got the eurostep going in games, and 3's or layups. I think he was targeted by Morey, for Morey. He knew he'd follow Harden, kinda like how JR Smith follows Carmelo (i.e. impressionable). Harden steps up his D, Canaan steps up his D.

Getting beat on one play does not make you a bad defender. Not to mention Curry has shook the **** out of almost every defender in the league.
