I truly believe Bev is a bench player in the long term because of the way he plays. His style of play is just not conducive to him being durable enough to be a starter long term. Bev is still extremely valuable to this team. If Canaan can bring what he has been doing in recent games more consistently, it wouldn't be a bad thing to bring Bev off of the bench when he gets healthy.
with him wearing number 0 does the pg rotation for the rockets stop here? I hope so. Or nick johnson could be the next one.
How awsome would it be if Caanan became a star? But in all honesty we just need him to continue shooting and creating good shots. I was always worried about his height, but as long as he can draw fouls he should be fine as a backup pg.
I think he's been playing pretty well this season. I know Bev gives us that defender we sorely need in the back court but Canaan is more talented on the offensive side of the ball. Canaan's defense hasn't been bad either.
Canaan has been surprisingly good on D. Has the tools to excel that way, so encouraging to see him using them. Super shooter. And strong at the ring. All the tools to be at least a very good backup PG.
I've been liking Canaan's progression this season. He's showing good growth. If he can be consistent with his offense he will be perfect off the bench. We need some scoring with that 2nd unit.
I'm just thrilled that the refs respect his drives to the hoop. As long as he gets calls and nails his treys, our bench will be in great shape.
canaan is much better than i thought on defense....he will be a good backup on any team, but should he be a backup on the rockets? i think beverly should come off the bench.
I think it was either Clutch's or David Locke's podcast where it was mentioned that Canaan has been the the Rockets best defender at PG this season.
Our problem spot is offensive production from the bench so I like Canaan as the backup. I want the starters to set the tone on defense and allow the bench room to work through Canaan.
Harden is your best offensive player, hell he is one of the 3 best in the NBA. Even on an off night the offense flows through Harden. If Harden drives and k
It seems to me with watching Canaan play defense that he has been either heavily influenced or actually training with Beverley. Definitely he models himself offensively as a Harden. If he can continue to improve both ends and play like them tow players would make him lethal. He is very short though.
Isaiah Canaan reminds me of a young Terrell Brandon. Not sure if he will develop to and get to Terrell's stature of a player in the league, but I see those type of tools in his game.
he needs a teardrop rather than trying to ram his way through centers at his size, hopefully that comes, just wont be this year
It's kind of amazing how Morey can pull serviceable point guards out his butt. That is why I find it more incredible that we spent the money that we did on Lin. 8.5 million is almost more than we spent on Brooks, Dragic, Lowry, and Beverly combined while they were here.
After watching the highlights you can tell some of Hardens game is rubbing off on him. Bumping players off his hip to create space, bobs his head the same way as harden, looking for contact. Awesome to see.
Have to agree here. Not sure if it's a broken clock situation or not but gotta give credit where it's due.
He's playing great on both ends of the floor. I think he might be able to be the 6th man this deep has been looking for
