I guess Canaan will be this year's AB. Guessing we won't see him at all as long as Bev and Terry are both healthy.
That doesn't make any sense. He was getting minutes early in the season when Bev was playing. McHale has done a decent job coaching so far this year, but if he starts benching Canaan just because Bev is back in the lineup, he's an idiot. Especially when our bench production is anemic and so many guys are struggling right now hitting the outside shot.
Where was Canaan? I'd rather see him out there running a three guard lineup rather than seeing Cisco jack up bricks.
McHale brain memory capacity can't store more than 7 players in his head ..he forgot all about Cannan ..& we 'v a game tomorrow

PBev nearly 30 minutes in his first game back. Canaan? ZERO minutes. I'm not an OMH (Official McHale Hater), but that was pretty stupid.
Everyone needs to calm down. There may be a trade in the works, so Morey may have asked for Canaan to not be played. Or McHale may prefer to play Terry and sit Canaan, I don't know. Terry has played very well this season, is a veteran player, and has shot better than Canaan up to this point. McHale played ten players tonight, so it's not like he is playing a really short rotation.
Really doesn't make sense. Beverely was on a minutes limit, and we were struggling from deep (really everywhere). Cannan hass played well so far....why not give him a shot?? Even Daniels got minutes.
Canaan has started for us over the last week plus, and has played well. He goes from that to ZERO minutes? Doesn't make sense.
This is just dumb. The Rox need all the good shooting they can get and Canaan was one of their better shooters. Just because Bev is back shouldn't have put Canaan out of the rotation. Garcia seems to have replaced him in the rotation for some reason. Its baffling.
Again -- do y'all not recall AB getting precisely the same treatment last season? Am I the only person who remembers that? There would be times when he filled in for Lin or Bev and was en fuego from 3. Then when they came back, he was stuck to the bench until the next injury -- even during times everybody else was dry from 3.
McHale gave key minutes to Cisco for God's sake! He's played 26 minutes in the last 2 games, and has gone 2-12 from the field including 2-11 from beyond the arc. Canaan played 26 minutes against Philly and went 3-8 from the field including 3-6 from beyond the arc. Granted, they don't play the same position, but who would you rather have in the game given their respective offensive outputs? For me, it's Canaan every single time.
I really don't want Canaan used as trade fodder. He's shown the past week he can play in this league and I think he had gained the confidence to be the offensive sparkplug off the bench we wanted Lin to be.
McHale had been playing Terry as the backup PG prior to Bev's injury. ETA: Canaan played 7 minutes and then 8 minutes in the first 2 outings, where both Bev and Terry were healthy. And those were garbage minutes at the end of those Laker/Jazz blowouts.
Canaan also played at Miami which was Bev's last game before tonight. He was out there for 14 minutes and knocked down all 3 of his shots(including 2 from downtown). So this notion that Canaan doesn't play when Bev suits up is BS. McHale intentionally kept him out of the game tonight in favor of Terry at the backup 1 and Cisco at the backup 2 which is inexplicable. And the results speak for themselves. The Rockets sucked offensively against a team they should've demolished.
