If someone didn't look at the standings and just read this board, they'd think we were tanking.

Tanking and losing would not be as hard

Play 3 Dorseys, 1 Garcia and 1 Capela

Bench: Sign back Royce 'Altercation' White, Whiteside, Capela, Camby

You're right on point with your statement....

Canaan, has a lot to work on including his defense and running an offense..

Unfortunately, Canaan is a shot first point guard and that won't work with this offense... Yes he has a nice shot and so does Daniels, all that is great with the Vipers but that want work on the big boy level..

We have a shoot first point guard now.

I don't really see that. He's a hand the ball to Harden first point guard. I don't think Beverley really forces up many bad shots. I don't think Beverley is always looking to shoot the ball. Beverley does play defense and rebound well for a point guard.

I like Canaan, I think he can be a good player. But he is most comfortable with the ball in his hands, looking for his shot. It wouldn't surprise me to see Canaan getting the bulk of the minutes behind Beverley very soon. But I see nothing wrong with Canaan getting more practice time in before he takes over full time as the back up point guard. It's still early in the season, there are some things McHale wants from Canaan before he gets big minutes. I see nothing wrong with any of that. Terry is the veteran and has play well up to this point. Canaan can watch and learn for now, and be better prepared for the future. We've only played twelve games.

If someone didn't watch all of the games to see how horrible this squad has looked over the past 4-5 outings and just looked at the standings, they'd think we have no reason to be worried.

This is confusing if you use the dark theme.
