Damn...if this stroke effected Hayes' memory, he might not even be in a state of mind to know what all is going on in this fiasco. If that is the case, this Scientology group is more sinister and underhanded than I imagined, using Hayes' name to make this statement just because he couldn't do anything about it in his current state. Of course, it could all be conspiracy crap. At any rate, it looks like Stone and Parker are going to get their shots in regardless. Poor Isaac. He may get the brunt of this attack without having really done anything to warrant it.
I wouldn't be surprised if tonight's new episode gets some of the highest ratings ever for an episode of South Park. Hopefully they won't go after Hayes too much and choose to make their point about scientology in general. Either way, I can't wait
I didn't get to watch the entire thing, but that was pretty damn funny given all of the information in this thread... Apparently, Chef had left South Park to join some group called the "Super Adventure Club." Just like the Wikipedia article said, he returned to South Park in this episode, but something was different. The difference is that Chef's voice is still done by Isaac Hayes, but it's just combined words sampled from previous episodes. They then run with that for a bit, making him say all sorts of ridiculously crude things to everyone. Somehow - I missed this part since the 24-hour plumber was over here - Chef ends up getting kidnapped (I guess) by the "Super Adventure Club" and the kids go off to save him at the headquarters. Eventually, the head guy reveals to them the grand scheme of the organization that has something to do with child molestation (I don't know). While he's revealing this plot, a demonstrative scene is playing to his voice-over; and all the while a caption of "This Is What The Super Adventure Club Actually Believes" is running at the bottom, a la the Scientology episode. The kids end up freeing Chef from his captors, but the head guy makes a final plea to Chef: "Don't you remember why you left South Park in the first place? You sought adventure. And why do people seek adventure? Because their lives have become dull and empty. Don't forget all your training, Chef. Stay with us and your life will be grand and eternal." To which one of the kids replies, "Chef, they've filled your head with lies, don't you see?" But Chef decides to go back to the Super Adventure Club guys, and while walking towards them, he gets struck by lightning and falls to the bottom of a ravine - only to be eaten by a mountain lion, shot, and eaten by a bear. At his funeral, Kyle says "I'm gonna remember Chef by blah blah blah....so you see, we shouldn't be mad at Chef for leaving us, we should be mad at that fruity little club for scrambling his brains." Then there's a scene where the Super Adventure Club has revived him and turned him into Darth Vader. Good stuff.
Yeah, that episode was really well done. They never fail to impress. Damn, Mencia is on now though, that dude is so freaking corny it's unbelievable.
hahaha i don't think that worked out so well.... totally one of the best eps in the past few seasons. darth chef... thats classic!
This episode rates right up there with last seasons "Marjorine" great show.. I love all the cut and chop they did with chefs voice I couldn’t believe the stuff they were making Chef say in the beginning..
Very hilarious expisode! ...but... I was really expecting Matt and Trey to go after Scientology and Tom Cruise again. In that sense, I was very disappointed.
I bet they wanted to, but the studios wouldnt let them so Matt and Trey had to dance around it like they did..
I agree, but if Paramount tells Comedy Central not to air any episodes that dive into Scientology what choice do they have, but to dance around it??
I think Trey and Mattt focused last night's episode on Chef/Hayes and wanted to deliver a sentimental goodbye (but, at the same time, indicate that he's f**ked in the head from Scientology). They accomplished that. But I'm hoping they wage war against Tom Cruise and Scientology in the very near future.
They did in a way. Wasn't L. Ron Hubbard accused of molesting young boys? They also brought back the "This is what ____ actually believe" graphic from their scientology episode.
Man, the last couple episodes of season 9 weren't that good, kind of made me forget how clever Trey and Matt really are. Very well done episode, especially the speech Kyle gave at the end.
