If Zion ate nothing but chicken breast, brown rice, and broccoli everyday he'd still be a BIG body. He probably loves the buffet, though.
A lot of reasons man.... I know with the Rockets when I was somewhat involved, they tried to get Francis to have a personal chef because his diet was impacting his play and it wasn't as easy as it sounds. A lot of times these guys don't think they need a chef, or they travel a lot and it isn't convenient for a chef to be there and they want to go out with friends.... some of it is that some guys really like food, and particular food that is bad for them.... and some of it is age, most 22-23 year old men aren't going to want to eat a particular diet. In the case of Zion, he has the body and the build of a man that is meant to be very strong, but also fat. So short of him going 100% like The Rock, it is going to likely be a struggle his entire life. If The Rock wasn't so militant about his lifestyle, he would be 400 lbs at this point.
for a few people I mean majority of the people who makes a ton of money and is dependent on being in top condition will spend for a trainer, dietician, etc
Zion needs to lay off the gumbo and buffalo wings…he keeps this up and he’s gonna be built like a bean bag
They need to just embrace his natural position. He is a D’Antoni Center. Get him a stud PG and shooters and run and gun.
I was going to quote Sam L Jackson's offensive line from Pulp Fiction but will not. The truth of the matter is carbohydrates and sugar intake. You solve that problem and 99.98 percent of the population wouldn't be fat.
It is harder for certain body types than others. Just like some body types but on muscle easier. I’m not saying that Zion is so wonderful example of someone with a great diet, but he puts on weight easier than most people. There are pluses and minuses to different body types. I still don’t understand how he was viewed as a once in a decade prospect when he had very limited defensive upside, didn’t really have a position and lacked perimeter foot speed.
The thing is even the so called "ectomorphs" skinny high metabolism types did gradually put on weight later in life and some managed to become morbidly obese from years of chronic high carbohydrate and sugar consumption. Insulin resistance is a universal body type problem that must be addressed. It's the whole dynamics of the body particularly the organs such as the liver and kidneys that high carbs and sugars affect and also hormone regulation. Most of the world is growing unhealthier because most can afford high carbs and sugar devoid of much nutrients which is why chronic insulin resistance is a global phenomenon along with ailments associated. The healthcare system is too greedy, from the doctors to the pharmaceuticals. They know it's a steady supply of extraordinary economical benefit to them to sustain a unhealthy population.
I agree with you, and it is extremely short sighted. People as individuals should make good decisions with their diet, but the reality is that the government should be helping and is not helping at all.
The government? What happened to personal responsibility? You choose what you eat. Now, if you are saying the government should regulate health care system then that's a good discussion to have but one that's complex and riddled with powerful organizations influencing outcomes.
