And tell me how many times they called it non shooting fouls when it was clear that he was fouled going to the basket.

It happened today in the first quarter and caused a blast by JVG.

It happened against the Wizard, and it happened against the Jailblazers.

yeah and funny when Bill WOrrell says, "Yao misses a fadeaway jumper". Yeah he misses it..but it wasn't intended to be a fadeaway jumper..HE WAS PUSHED..lol

Actually..it would be pretty easy to ref Yao. I would treat him fairly...but maybe I'm a little biased. :p

Yes, because any person/thing that can hold yao back is always music to YOU.

I agree Jeff. When those calls happen I just try to place Duncan, Garnett, or any other top level post player in that situation and imagine whether a call would be called or not.

Is Yao the toughest guy to referee? I dont think so. I think Yao just doesnt get ANY "benefit of the doubt" on anything. No respect.

Personally, the only way Yao can try to fix this problem is just improve his aggressivenes. The more aggressive he is, the more "over time" refs will give him that benefit of the doubt call.

He was ultra aggressive the whole game last night.

I cannot imagine how much more aggressive he can get, and that did not prevent him from getting 2-3 bad calls and eventually fouling out at clutch time.

    Yao is just getting shafted.

That offensive foul call was absurd, refs didn't have the guts to make it right the foul was on James pushing.

The league really needs to look at this.

It is ridiculous that Yao has to shoot with a hack on the arm everytime he shoots.

He is not hard to officiate. Just quit treating him like a 2 bit role player who can't score. He is being officiated like he's a CBA player out there hacking and throwing up bricks.

    No respect at all.

Shaq gets twice the calls (though he can't hit the free throws)

70% of the centers in the league are getting calls that Yao is not getting.

Not only that he is getting killed with ticky tacky fouls.

There have been lots of legitimate fouls he has made. The refs don't need to put any junk calls on him. Why don't they go ahead and give him the NBA star designation. I mean he has been voted an all star starter for 3 seasons.

I guess he has been stereo-typed as a clumsy Shawn Bradley type because he is being officiated like Shawn Bradley. Bradley doesn't get calls because he is clumsy at times and passive.

Yao has broken that mold often enough and has consistently improved his scoring and star power each season.

Come on NBA step up , step in and give Yao the same status as the rest of your all star starters.

At first I thought they were trying to make a point. I thought they wanted people to see just because you're popular doesn't mean you "get" the calls; you have to earn them.

I dunno what else Yao can do to earn the calls. He plays hard night-in-night-out. He doesn't jump into the stands and cold clock the fans. He says & does all the right things off the court.

It's like they're penalizing Yao because he has a physical advantage over his opponent.

refs are human, some of them cant get past the race thing. It's normal. I'm not trying to equate Yao to Jackie Robinson, cuz what Robinson did has no comparison, but I'm sure Jackie had to deal with a much wider strike zone than other hitters for a good amount of years. I'm not suggesting its racism or the refs are racist, just that its hard to let go of old habits.

    it's not a homer thing...

it is way to obvious that Yao is getting shafted on calls.

I really will be disappointed if the Rockets don't take this hard to the league office.

was this an 'and 1'? You can't slap someone's hand when he's trying to dunk the ball, right?

Let's face it. The refs are human, they have their bias like everyone else I am sure. They may not be racists, but they are sure biased against Yao, the league has to send out a notice and ask them to ref Yao fairly. Man these refs suck.
