Its not that other teams are worth more but the pull Yao has to the Rockets organization in terms of drawing profit for the team.

Agree but you got to give Yao some credit for increasing the fan base of the Rockets. May it bring more profit or not, His presence with the team established a bigger following for the team.

if he gets hurt 1 more time and is out for the playoffs, he needs to be traded. im tired of waiting for him to be healthy for a season + playoffs. same goes for tmac.

If somebody offers you Kobe, LeBron or Wade for Yao you would do that trade in heartbeat.

That will never happen but it shows you that any player is tradeable, but Yao has higher value than other players, that's it.

To be honest with you I'd trade any player if that makes TEAM better.

Nice that you found examples. I was just going to point out all the Chinese ad that runs on the court of Rockets games and Toyota Center(Toyota of all companies would sponsor a Houston arena) as very visible evidence.

Not all revenue's shared in the league.

I'm sure Les has many Chinese business interests that does not involve the Rockets organization. Having said that, Yao was obviously the reason that Les has even those business interests in the first place. Rockets are ranked below the Knicks and other top franchises because not all of Les' Chinese business involve the Rockets.

If all Les cares about is money then he will be a Rocket for some time. If he wants to go to the next level then he probably should trade him while he is still relatively young. A team that is built around a player who has season ending injuries every year is in for a lot of disappointment. Yao is simply too big for his body and thus can not stay healthy.

It is indeed quite alarming that Yao figures on season ending injuries that past seasons. If this would be the trend, then Morey and Les would/should consider that option. The sad thing is it may dawn on Yao himself that having such injuries frequently would force him to retire prematurely. I believe He still has 4 to 5 more years in him.
