no way i'd trade for anyone except lebron. not even kobe. the lakers wouldn't be the best in the west hadn't it for having gasol, bynum, odom, ariza and phil jackson with kobe. if it was just kobe, they'd be like a 7th seed.

lebron is by far the best player in the league. everyone knows it. he's better than kobe.

i also picked dirk because he's a legit 7 footer and a nightmare for matchups, and he's durable.

last player was DH12, he's younger, more durable, and also another 7 footer ( 6'11 )

you asked the question you got the answer.

seriously the results are not a knock on Yao, its just reality.

Pretty much all of those guys are healthy.

All the 'best' players in the league in NBA history weren't injury prone like Yao.

I think this highly overrates the impact of swingmen in the league. I agree with 1-4, but not Pierce, DWill and certainly not Rose. These guys by themselves are not able to really change entire defensive strategies and can't anchor their own defenses. I'd keep TD, KG, but leave off Nowitski. Dirk is simply not a good defensive player--Yao's impact is significantly better on the defensive end.

Derrick Rose? Seriously? Maybe in a couple years when he becomes an elite pg, but now... no chance in hell. Right now, I'd take Brandon Roy over Derrick Rose any day of the week, and twice on Sunday.
Your list past number 4 is laughable. Seriously, you have no idea what you're talking about.

If you don't take into consideration his history of injuries, then I challenge you to come up with 25 players.

If you do take into consideration his history of injuries, then there are about 100 players in the league I would rather have than Yao Ming.

any player who doesn't get hurt at the end of the season.
you obviously don't understand what he wrote.

as usual, the "Only fans" are selective in their reading. this is what he wrote ..

    '
If you do take into consideration his history of injuries,
then there are about 100 players in the league I would rather have than Yao Ming.'

how did you not see those words Pryuen?

Actually in another thread, it was shown that Shaq was just as injury prone as Yao especially in those first 5-8 years in the league.

Yao Ming is currently the best center in the NBA right now and there are not many players better than him when Yao is fully healthy. Only ones are LeBron, Kobe, Wade, CP3, and a healthy Duncan is debatable.

but shaq never misses an entire playoffs (like yao has) or half of the playoffs (like yao just did).

shaq's injuries were something he could overcome easily in time to play for the playoffs. basically, he just got lazy.

if yao gets injured midway and come back for the playoffs, nobody really cares.

Not really. Shaq got lazy during his late championship years around his 3rd time against the New Jersey Nets. His injuries were not as serious as Yao's of course. But they were not joke either. Sprained MCL And Hyperextended knees is not something that can be cured in a couple of games. Yao > T-Mac though.

How many NBA Finals did Shaq get to in his first 5-8 years?

    come on dude.

we all love Yao, but Rocket fans SURELY KNOW his weaknesses. And the biggest weakness is being injury prone.

I really do feel sorry for Yao cause he's always hurt, but that also hurts the team's chances of winning a championship.

the question is extremely stupid too, the poster ask if Yao is the best player , yet wants people to vote players they would trade for him.

If Michael Jordan was the best player, do you think Bulls fans wanted to trade him for anyone?

I agree with your post completely actually especially when you say the question is stupid. All said and done, I want Yao to be our cornerstone of our franchise still, don't you?

how can someone be your cornerstone when you know for sure that he won't be able to make it through a reg. season + playoffs? the past 3 years have been proof.

yao can still be a very good player for us, but he should not be our cornerstone. if it is, when games pile up, we're going to battle out there without our cornerstone, like the past 3 years.
