I like the Rockets forum. :D

We are always talking about trading Franchise players.

Fortunately we always have two Franchise players, and the older
one is usually the whipping boy. I predict after Yao, Tmac would
be on the next trade topics. :D

wait!! no one is saying that. untangle your panties and have a grown-up discussion, instead of a knee-jerk emotional tantrum.

we're saying that there's more value out there to be had for yao than just Mihm. we're saying that, it's at least arguable, that the Rockets could be left with a far better on-the-court product if the asset that is Yao Ming were traded to a team willing to pay the price to have Asia's favorite team on their roster.

yao has yet to become a franchise player, snowmt. 18/8 doesn't exactly scream, "franchise player."

this is the problem...and it's part of the good side as well. yao is soooo overvalued. the fact that anyone could call this guy a franchise player at this point is less a testament to what he does on the court and more a testament to what he means to a franchise off the court. that means incredible trade value.

Factoring his role on defense, he IS a Franchise player.

Who would you take? Yao or Randolph, a 20/10 guy but atrocious
    on defense.

oh, come on...he's not the defensive player we hoped he'd be..not even close. he's not a great rebounder...he's not a tremendous shot blocker. i will agree he has a certain presence, but hell, he gets outjumped by players half a foot shorter than him all the time.

he is not yet a franchise player. i hope he becomes one. but he's not yet. not by virture of his play on the court, anyway.

i'd take yao over randolph, in the abstract. but i also wouldn't use a #1 pick on randolph.

Give me a break. Stop sucking your mom's n*pple and have a grown-up discussion.

This year Rockets traded Franscis for T-mac dreaming of a better team. Now you are talking about trading Yao for someone to get a better team. Are you crazy? A team cannot be built in one day.

    calm down.

yes...i'im saying yao has more value on the open market than he has on the court. i'm not saying we should necessarily go out and trade him. but i'm saying he shouldn't be considered untradeable.

If you don't see it, I suggest you pick a game in which Yao score 20 points or so. Go track how many of his points are scored off putbacks, dunks and layups. Go track how many of his points are scored off hook shots and fadeaway jumpers.

The truth is Yao's hook shot horrendous percentage only strengthens the case for him being purely a roleplayer. Kareem had a skyhook. Hakeem had the Dream Shake. Yao had the hook shot. At least he had it last year. How many hook shots did he drop down against Shaq last year in those bigtime games in the regular season where he outplayed Shaq? The dude wasn't dunking all over Shaq or anything. He was outplaying Shaq by making Shaq look clueless with those hook shots which are nearly indefensible. Noone can block those hook shots without getting goal-tending calls.

i understand that...but you're not throwing f bombs out and calling people out personally, either.

i'm a yao fan too...only by virtue of the fact that he plays for the Houston Rockets.

    ;)

I am a Rox fan and Yao fan. It's much easier to defend Yao as a
YOF on other teams' forum. That's why I support a Yao trade as
long as we got fair valur in return.

True dat theres not room for F bombs. When you use F bombs your credibility goes down, IMO. Though iv used them on occasion ;)

Are you sure they are learning from their mistakes, they still believe Tmac is the corner stone of the franchise and foundation of the championship team, that's the huge mistake, Tmac just like his cousin wherever he goes, the team begin losing.

I couldnt DISSAGREE with you more! T-Mac is a superstar player but not on the level where he can carry the team alone like Duncan, Shaq, ect. He needs another person to score next to him for him to be effective. He never had that w/ the Magic and when he was w/ the Raptors he wasn't fully developped. T-Mac can, is, and will be the corner stone of this franchies and that is no mistake!
