I still feel uncomfortable with volume scorers like Tmac, A.I., etc.
They shoot a below average FG% to get their pts.
Their teammates may be more efficient to get those pts.
All good teams have highly efficient go-to scorers. Otherwise
they would be mediocre at best.

Ok! just let 30% shooting going, he will lead you to the promising land.

Check the FG% of all go-to scorers on contending teams.

If they suck at scoring why do they get the ball?
Because they can creat thier own shot. I dont know if you watch the games or not but players cant allways be wide open for jump shoots. I mean it just doesn't happien in the NBA. Thats why you need players like T-Mac, Bryant, AI, ect. because they can open up the court for thier teammates.

    guards only.

you can't compare FG percentage for shaq with a guard. for obvious reasons.

Michael Redd is a sharp-shooter...his career is around 45.5%

    Reggie Miller is 47% career

    Nowitzki is at 46% career

    Lebron is at 43.7% career

    Francis is at 43.1% career

Name another player you'd like to see his FG % compared to .

Sure. They all shot far more than 41%. All championship teams
    have ~50% go-to scorers.

Magic is not a contender. Lebron is shooting near 50% this year.

Isiah Thomas was a career 45% shooter

    MJ was 49%

    Bird was around 49%

    Wilkins was around 46%

i would also point out that shooting percentages, as a whole, were far higher back then as well.

    kobe's around 45% career

I agree Centers are closer to the basket and can use there size to get the shot. Guard however have to shot from longers distances w/ of course a lesser chance of going in

Check their percentages when they were actually contending.
There is no doubt Tmac is a superstar, but we would go nowhere
with his inconsistent shooting. In fact, if we don't count garbage
time shots, Tmac is more off than on.

    Tracy's Numbers

    03-04 ORL
    67 67 39.9 .417 .339 .796 1.40 4.60 6.00 5.5 1.39 .63 2.67 1.90 28.0

    04-05 HOU
    30 30 41.4 .413 .325 .759 1.00 5.20 6.30 5.5 1.43 .87 2.47 2.40 24.0

Tracy's numbers are down slighly but overall I think that is a great adjust to the Rocks at almost mid season...

Tracy definetly is our bright spot.. Hopefully we will be able to give Yao more credit in time with a champonship ring!!! :)

The Rockets are #1 in the league in least points scored by opponent in the paint, don't tell me that have nothing to do with Yao. Yao helps our defense in many ways, many of them aren't showed on the stats sheet.

His number down is nothing to do with Yao, he just has to spend some energy on the defence end under JVG, unlike in orlando, he could careless about D.

i never said that. i said his defense doesn't make him a franchise player. and i said he's not nearly the defensive player we expected him to be.

yeah, Tmac is only bright spot of the season, Because he could bring you guys some miracle which happen once in the Spurs game, so you guys could wait another, if it's not happen in this game, it could happen in next or next 5 or next 10 or last game of the season.

Well, I won't blame Tmac for a poor start. Something is wrong with the team and the management.

Thank you Yao-only fans. In less than a few hours, I've gone from, "i'm not advocating a trade of Yao Ming" to "how quickly can we trade him and what can we get for him?" :)

if you think Yao is not franchise player with great D, that's fine, at least he did decent job on his man, almost shut him down in last game, how about the other guy so called superstar and franchise player of the rockets, is he play any defence last night??, how many points his man got last night??
