    Heaven's Gate liked it.

BTW, I have been looking for a copy of the "recording" from the Siberian Hell Hole. All the links on the net point here: http://www.av1611.org/sound/misc/dighell.ram, but there is no file. Does anyone know where to get it?

You don't remember Marshall Applewhite and the Heaven's Gate cult suicides?

    [IMG][IMG]

It was linked to the Art Bell show:

"Following the Heaven's Gate suicides, the public learned that news of a "companion UFO" trailing Comet Hale-Bopp -- a rumor spread predominately by late-night talk radio host Art Bell -- may well have contributed to cult members taking their lives in an attempt to "graduate," as their Web site described it, to a "higher level" and leave Earth in a spacecraft. Bell will tell you he did nothing wrong. The full story reveals it's not quite that simple. "

The myth about the Siberian Hell Hole recording is that someone lowered a tape recording down the deepest hole in the world and got a recording of hell. http://amightywind.com/hell/aboutsounds.htm

Wow! I think it is playing on that site while I type. Cool!
    here it is: http://amightywind.com/mp3/hellscreams.mp3

Hmmm, what I originally heard is different than that I think...

My friend and I agree: we can't go see that movie.... HOLY COW it scares the crap out of me. I don't care to debate whether or not that stuff is real, but the possibility of that stuff being real is scary enough for me.

Rumors are that the recording is actually a slowed down version of someone reading the box score from Tuesday's thumping of the Rockets by the Bucks. Truly scary indeed!

If you find a link, don't read what it says, and just click it and let the file play, you'll notice that 9 times out of 10 you have no idea what that "noise" is..

when you read what it is *supposed* to be, it helps you imagine that being said when you listen to it..

One thing i am wondering about the gates of hell thing...do they really have microphones that can withstand that kind of heat? or anything for that matter that can withstand that heat down there and not melt.

i mean even steel melts at lower temperatures....that part doesn't make sense to me.

The dead don't have a lot to say. They're pretty boring. You know, they could tell me who's going to win the next game, but no - it's just do this, do that. Whatever, dead man. Like I'm going to listen to you. You're dead! What are you going to do about it?

I don't know if the web site linked earlier belongs to the same people that are on Coast to Coast w/ Art Bell but those guys who go on Coast to Coast don't seem to be selling anything. Usually when someone goes on that show they are pushing a book, or a video or something and, from what I understand, they usually get a huge return on their appearance.

However, the EVP people never talk about books and such. Now, I noticed a book and a newsletter for sale on the web site (clicking the link here was the first time I visited it) so I could be wrong with regard to the profit motive regarding their appearance but if they aren't doing it for money then why are they doing it at all?

I don't believe in anything (most of the time). But EVPs are kind of neat.

I actually got to meet Michael Keaton at a promotional appearance he did for this movie. The guys who run the site for the evp stuff were there to.

Keaton seemed to be fairly convinced it was a real phenomenon.

Kind of freak stuff, it give my wife the chills everytime she here one of them played

Frankly, the premise behind Lemony Snicket was more believable.
