I gotta come to Bradleys defense on this one. While he is still the most overpaid player in history, he does fit into the Dallas scheme better than Walt fits into Houstons scheme. He blocks and alters shots in the paint and will grab a few boards. Certainly not the best player on the team but does what he is asked. He will even drop in some points from the perimeter on occassion.

As for Walt, if he would play like he did at the end of last year he would be great. But like Bullard if his three is not falling then his usefullnes drops way down.

Why shouldn't they be on the list?

Caffey couldn't snag a board to save his life, and his offense ain't all that great either.

Pippen is super horrible this year, especially considering his enormous contract.

Big Country has had a few okay games( not great, okay) does that mean I want him on my team? hell no. He still sucks. Bradley has a few monster games every once in a while too.

I'd rather have Walt than those scrubs.

that's not saying much though, is it. [IMG]

    Crash,

Bradley is a liablity on the court IMO. The only reason he is playing in Dallas is because they have no one else. For every decent play he makes he screws up another with his awkwardness. Any team that is smart will iso the man Bradley is guarding and take it to stick boy.

besides, Walt kicked his ass, so no way is Bradley better than Walt. [IMG]

Everyone on this board please watch Walt play defense next game and you will see he just plain refuses to play it. More problematic is his offensive hustle. All he does is stand in the corner and make no effort to rebound or help his teamates out on the court. Bullard will never make the all-defensive team but at least he gives an effort. The reason we are losing games is Walt Williams NOT Mobley, Francis, or 8 minutes a game Bullard. I can't believe some of you on this board actually think Pippen is worse than Williams. Give me a break! I hated Pippen as much as any of you but I would get down on my hands and knees and beg him to come back if that meant not getting Williams. Other than his game at Toronto last week (after being benched) Williams has not done squat for any game we have ever needed to win.

Just got the news from Clutch's post that there will most likely be a trade late this week. Let us all hope that it involves our 4.5 million dollar player Walt. How about Walt Williams to the Wizards (wouldn't that be appropriate).

I don't know, but if ever posts/posted on this board, it would be safe to say that he's the best player in the Clutch BBS.

He's not even the worst on the Rockets. Any further questions please see K. Cato.

Proof is in the pudding once again. Rocks up 16-9 bring Walt in then "miraculously" down 18-17.......fall behind by 6 a few minutes later.....take Walt out and we are tied by halftime. 2nd half......Walt comes in when we are up by 2.......we quickly fall behind by 6 when Walt misses all the shots that he takes and promptly gets schooled for 3 baskets by Malone. Rudy finally wakes up and takes the "Wizard" out and we come back to take the game to overtime. If this was just a couple of games here and there I would not give a #$%%, however this is the story of EVERY game that Walt has playing time in. I do see Rudy finally figuring this out and that is promising.......but lets hope we still have a shot at the playoffs when he finally quits playing Walt.

I previously though OTag was the worst, but I've got to change it to Polynice now after seeing last nights game. He shoots 20% free throws, don't even want to know what he shoots from the field. He cant block shots, grabs a board about once a quarter, and doesnt have much post up D. Give Walt a break...at least he can shoot.

    Deanb,
Check out the stats a little closer and you will see Walt was 4-11 in shooting (which is equal to his team low 34% shooting %)and 1-3 free throws. 34%....34%........34%!!!!!!!!!!
I couldn't agree more on the fact that Walt can hit meaningless 3 pointers in blowouts, but he cannot make the important 2 pointers and if he ain't gonna play defense or contribute on offense he needs to be waived. Walt just plain and simple sucks!

Gee.........if we take away Walt's 42% 3 point shooting what would his overall 2 point shooting percentage be. Answer = below 30%. That means Walt makes 2.6 out of every 10 shots he takes inside the 3 point line for the year 2000-2001 (even Collier can make 2 out of every 10 shots I would hope). Plain and simple....Walt Sucks. What sort of mental midget takes away a players three-point percentage when calculating their overall FG%?

Nice way to try and make a point, but a way that shows an amazing ignorance for Walt's importance in the Rockets system.

Walt is sent out there to hit 3 pointers. When he hits the 3 then the defense MUST open up to guard him and thus allows Francis/Mobley et al to drive into the lane. This is exaclty the same theory applied with Matt Bullard/ Jason Collier, heck even Mo T to an extent.
Now Walt has the additional ability to put the ball on the floor and get into the lane and flip his wild shot up (And sometimes in) - unfortunately he's been WAY out of control of that aspect of his game recently and has been giving up offensive charges, but that's just something that he's going through right now and something that will more than likely right itself (that being based on past evidence).

Sure, say Waltsux, say whatever you like, but the guy is probably one of the best SF's in the league for the Rockets system.
