i need a big loan, but under the tinman's ownership,
i'm make this the #1 organization in all sports.

i'd bring the rockets tradition of loyalty and family back
calvin gets his job back too
rocket greatest momments will be played on the big screen during break
    turbo gets his job back
i'd have a 'surprise' rockets legend at every home game to announce the player intros.. maybe one night its elvin hayes, the next it maybe matt bullard
i'd have a southwest airlines 'beat the rocket legend' 3 point contest
you have to beat robert reid or matt maloney to win a free trip
cheerleaders will even throw tshirts in the cheap upperdeck
the intro would be 'HERBIE HANCOCK's ROCK IT'
    "BEAT LA" signs
The new rockets logo would look like this:

If Sprewell likes JVG so much why wouldn't he take a "pay cut" and sign with the Rockets halfway into the season last year?

Van Gundy definitely has a bad rap among the league as a whole, but if you ask anyone who actually plays for him, they love him. Horry wouldn't like him. He only starts to play in April. Van Gundy wouldn't put up with that. And Walton really wouldn't like him. You know how those free-thinkers are.

So I guess we better keep trying to get players who have already played for Stumpy. Because nobody else is coming here.

Where is Alan Houston when you need him?

    Preach on Brotha!!!

Mike James actually did pretty good since leaving and I wouldn't mind having Posey around but for the most part the guys that have left have not been successful in their new situations.

For everyone saying bring back Rudy T.. what are you smoking??

Yes, Rudy T brought us two championships, but he also brought us a long stretch of 0 playoff appearances. And the year JVG comes in, we are immediately back in the playoffs! Strange how that works..

Not entirely true... Yao does respect JVG, who doesn't he respect? (At least on the surface)

But from all the articles I read, in Chinese or English, I never got impression that he "likes" JVG. He does seem to like Rudy.

I've been feeling this way about Gundy/Rockets management for a while. Too many good players just seem to ignore our team.

And I keep wondering why Yao and Tmac get so little ref respect - even before the Dallas series it seemed like all of our players were being hosed on both ends - which made me wonder who didn't like the coach? The entire ref's union?

I'd love to run this one past a Horry or another long time NBA player.

Well, I feel like a guy who just came home from a hard day at work and found his wife in bed with his best friend. Now do I go get drunk and pass out or drive my tank around the neighborhood knocking down other people's houses? :(

I agree with r2000 Yao respects everybody *come on who has he said anything bad about?

It seems that the people that want to come play with JVG are over the hill Knicks that just need a job.

    - Rod Strickland?
    - Mark Jackson?
    - Charles Oakley?
    - Spreewell? (couldn't make a team)

might as well give Starks a call since we like former JVG type players.

I would not want to play for JVG either even though I would love a chance to play with TMac / Yao.

Just out of curiosity, what good free agents did we ever sign?

Who do you think that we got below market rate?

It just kills me that JVG bashing never seems to get old, no matter what happens.

It rained today, efffing Van Gundy....

I'm broke today, effing Van Gundy....

Blah blah blah.....This is getting really old

And the ones who said they loved JVG had an ax to grind. For example, Barry wanted a broadcasting job. Rick Brunson wanted to be an assistant coach. Same for Charlie Ward. Same for Patrick Ewing. Etc. Etc. And current players like T-Mac and Yao aren't going to badmouth someone they have to play for everyday.

It's all JVG's fault that trains blew up in India.

    Houston fans are so fickle.

We only get upset by the train wreck in front of our eyes.

JVG will get an extension at the All Star Break, where he'll be coaching the Western Conference. Book it.
