Yeah I haven't disputed how valuable Looney's role on GSW is. I feel you guys are missing my point. He is in a great situation. I wonder if a Kevon Looney would be able to rise above the coaching of Silas to still be considered a valuable player.

Needs to work on his nut kicks and dirty tricks bag.

On second thought, one Draymond is plenty.

Sadly this is true. During the Harden era, he would have had hero status with us and been the rabbit DMtheGM pulled out of his hat. A younger cheaper role player to replace the person that needs/wants to be payed. Hopefully Garuba finds his fit in the league and blows up because he seems like a great person.

Maybe Usman can get a podcast or punch a teammate to update his flagging Green-comp score

Hanging on the rim might get you some attention. . . . But not the right kind.

    Try again Garuba.

He is the Draymond of FIBA and Euroleague ball.

But otherwise not really made for NBA ball.

    21. We probably gave up on him too soon. That's the risk when you draft someone so young though.

I imagine with unlimited coaching resource and available playing time you can turn a number of young players into super useful pros. Garuba undoubtedly could have been a useful defender in the pros and probably an okay Draymond like offensive player…but do you really want to invest 4+years of dedicated focus and playing time on him to get there when other players have more promise with less training effort? Draymond for all his strengths is a limited player in the absolute right roster situation. Do you want to invest all that time and effort into a guy THAT limited? I don’t think GS was willing to invest in that much for Draymond - he happened to be good enough early on that he could contribute in ways Garuba was not able to.

…honestly, Garuba probably would have been better off refining his skill set in the Spanish League and making an NBA run later in his career. He was too raw when he first got here and needed playing time he didn’t get in Houston.

and now my "looney is in the right system" theory has come full circle. Destiny's skill set is very golden state-ish. Silas was an ass of a coach and did nothing toward Garuba's strengths.

i would be more upset if the rockets weren't so far from contending. I still think Rocket should have picked garuba and ty ty back up instead of freaking boban.
