Could be, and it is my biggest fear.......but too early to tell......if so, it is a big strike against Morey. DD
worst case scenario, the rockets signed away the only guy on the lakers that could shut down aaron brooks.
He ain't that much alike. ;-) If he breaks his foot again next season, it doesn't look good. The reconstructive surgery was his last chance.
Let us give him sometime to show us what he can do under Adelman then we can start comparing him to other players. Just relax and enjoy the show.
Seems like Ariza was brought in to be Battiers eventual replacement, IE a strong defensive wing. If he develops a consistant offensive game, cool, but as stated by Morey he is worth his contract on his defense alone. I find it ironic that people bashed Battier for being a hole offensively but he has been both a better offensive and defensive player thus far in the preseason. Maybe this will change, but as of now Shane is the superior player on both ends of the court.
I doubt that, at least in the next couple of years because both of them play off each other pretty well.
Shandon Anderson in the sense that coming to your team, expect him to do pretty much what he did with his last team. Even though the talks are of expanding his game, he doesn't seem the the type to blast off into All Star heights like Gilbert Arenas, Joe Johnson, Carlos Boozer on his next team. And he's not getting paid like it either. He contract is fair. His on-court play's gonna be fine. I'm more concerned with his injury history really....
I don't think you understood him the first two times... he said that he is a better defender than Anderson...
Premature thread - this thread needed to be done a year from now. Let's give the guy a year before we start labelling him an old disappointment.
ur missing the point altogether hoss......Ariza is a better defender than Anderson end of discussion..
Better defender I buy, but how the heck is Ariza a better shooter. Last year was his career year and he only 33 percent from downtown. Shandon came to us with career numbers that were similar to Ariza's career high season last year.
Interesting... I had this same conversation with my wife the other day. My expectations for Ariza are very low. I'm just happy we essentially got him for free (except for the cap space) because of the injury exception.
