F**kin' InDemand. I hope some Houstonians are gonna be in Chat tonite to give us out-of-towners some play-by-play.
Ever since 39 and 20 have come under national network affiliation, we always get stuck with 51. Ugh! One of these days, someone will start a UHF station in Houston dedicated to sports and with a strong signal! Petition drive anyone?
There are always plenty of H-towners in chat to give ya the play by play...It's almost as good as seeing it if you have a good imagination.
Guess all that crap about dish being better than cable is not true Oh well...if you are in Houston..... Get rabbit ears or a coat hanger and some aluminum foil and you can get it.
Heres a little tidbit from skyreport.com regarding KNWS and satelitte locals. There are a number of reasons why a number of stations are missing from local TV packages. Some stations will be added at a later date once they provide an adequate feed, DBS providers said, while others simply did not elect to be carried by the DBS services. (A list of new local channels can be found at: http://www.skyreport.com/skyreport/local.htm.) One station that missed the deadline to elect must-carry, KNWS in Houston, is somewhat significant for viewers since the station televises Houston Astros baseball games. KNWS missed the Federal Communications Commission's June 30 deadline to elect must-carry. The station filed a complaint in late September but the FCC ruled in the DBS companies' favor in the dispute, citing the missed deadline. "According to the must-carry provision in the law, they can be reconsidered for carriage in four years," said DirecTV spokesman Robert Mercer. "Given the need to accommodate the many stations that honored the election deadline and the limits of our satellite capacity, we were unable to make exceptions for those stations that were late in filing must-carry elections."
I hope whoever was in charge of filing the paperwork got canned. How do you miss an important deadline like getting your channel on satellite? C'mon...
Hi, Great site, I have been here before but I just registered for the chat to find out if the ROCKETS were going to be on TV because I couldn't find a TV listing for the game in the Chronicle. Well I'm off to the store to buy a set of powered rabbit ears. Thanks Dish or 51. Should be a great season this is the most talent ( that was still in playing condition ) the ROCKETS have ever had. Bill
Welcome to the BBS Bill. The game should be on tonight. I have sent a couple of threads, and other members have posted that they have seen listings in the Chronicle for the game. I personally haven't, but I am inclined to believe them. Good luck with your reception tonight, the weather doesn't look too good, but hopefully you'll be set up.
Why channel 51!!! WHY!! I just checked it out, and they have even worse reception than UPN did last year. This is going to be one loooonnngggg season.
