Add talent, a 3 point shot, leading a team to the playoffs, scoring in the 20's, leading the NBA in scoring, and yeah maybe Darius could be kinda like Tmac. He may be overweight a little but that happens when you have microfracture and cant walk for so long or run at all.

No matter how horrible Tmac is, he will be a million times better than Miles. MIles will be no where near Tracy. Miles can't even average over 20ppg. So Darius Miles cannot even be compared to Tmac. Miles is a role player and Tmac is a superstar. Superstar cannot be compared to role players!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Seroiusly, I know that TMac has worn out his welcome here, but Darius Miles? All that Miles did was dunk, then tap his forehead with his fists, no matter if they were up by 30 or down by 30...NOHING ELSE, TMac used to do much more...

T-Mac is still the best player Houston has.
He said ppl should be more concerned with Yao than himself and he was absolutely right.

    No.

Tracy McGrady hasn't had any off the court problems, while Darius's past is littered with them.

Didn't he get caught smoking weed this year?

Totally agree. Tmac should not even be compared to Miles. He is worth more and that says a lot. No team would offer Miles the money Tmac is making. Sad thing is that Tmac is injured and can not contribute to the team. His performance last year should not cloud what He has done during his career.

The question isn't as a bad as this board is making it out to be. He isn't saying is a T-mac in his prime Darius Miles.

He simply thinks that maybe T-mac won't recover from this knee injury. I disagree but you guys are making it bigger than it is.

No, his point was that Tracy has put on weight while recovering like Miles did.

His premise is ridiculous because he asserts Miles had a major dropoff when he returned. It would seem that way looking at his per game averages. But he was only playing 9 minutes per game this season. His per minute averages all line up with what he's done for his career. His production didn't diminish, his playing time did.

Give any player more playing time and their scoring average will go up. Give any player less playing time and their scoring average will go down. It's not indicative of a players improvement or regression.

And again, I don't think it should come as a surprise when athletes who are forced to be inactive put on weight. These guys are used to burning a lot of calories. They have to consume the same amount of calories to maintain a consistent body weight. Take away their ability to do cardio and they're now consuming more calories than they're burning, thus the weight gain.

This is a very poor excuse. If the McGrady can't summon the will power to decrease his caloric intake then all of the talk of him being mentally weak and/or lazy is true.

Look at other athletes who have had serious injuries or surgeries like McGrady. It's no coincidence that the guys who are typically known as hard workers or competitors managed to keep their weight low during rehab. Guys like Amare and Yao even lost some weight during the process to help prevent further injury down the road.

Have you ever gone through it? It's not as easy as it sounds. I'm just now coming back from not being able to run for a year and a half. For the first 9 months, I was surprised because I really didn't gain any weight (maybe 4 or 5 pounds). Then all of a sudden, BAM! 20 pound weight gain. It works differently for different people.
