He needs to keep penetrating, especially when the other team is in the penalty. Why he doesn't is beyond me, because he is a great finisher around the rim.
tmac is still coasting trust me he'll be ready in the playoffs that dunk on AK is just a glimpse of what we'll be seeing later i guarantee you that !
I dont know if we were watching the same game, but i dont recall seeing any powerful dunks or a lot of penetration. If he did, i wonder why he only got 2 fts. Of course, i not hating on Tmac or anything, I just believe he needs to take the game into his hands and come up big in a game like today. If hes coasting in a game like this where the team is fighting for home court, I really hope hes just trying to save energy and he better unleash a godly Tmac in the playoffs.
Granted t-mac doesn't look the same.... But all this ripping on a player after one loss is pretty insane. Geez - you guys call me a hater and a bandwagoner for ripping on our "role" players (who had a horrible game today) and where are you now???? It's just one freakin game! One game. A game we barely lost. Guess what, it happens!
tmac penetrating alot today??? u wont have 9/23 FG if u penetrate even if u miss and just go to the line once
No defending T-Mac's play tonight. He definitely didn't bring it. In the regular season, he definitely (nowadays) is very passive and he doesn't play like he has the fire to win games. He has his moments, but his will has diminished. He really has started coasting again since Yao got back. He played like an MVP while he was out, but is now playing really bad. I think this series will show us what he's made of. I want to see him attacking the damn basket. Is he still T-Mac? LET THE TRUTH BE TOLD (T-Mac). Oh and T-Mac owns slower, less physical guys like Kirilenko, Prince, Bowen, but he has trouble against physical defenders like Giricek, Fisher, Diawara, etc. He lets them bully him around. I DON'T WANT TO SEE THAT SH*T IN THE PLAYOFFS T-MAC. And neither does anyone on this board. Brilliant move by Sloan to recognize this and put physical defenders on his instead of the usual Kirilenko.
Can someone find T-Mac's fg% during Yao's absence? IIRC, he shot pretty well when Yao was out. It is really strange. Shooting accuracy shouldn't depend very much on effort. Coasting only affect effort, not shooting.
Tmac is a totally different player when the spotlight is just on him. I dont see any difference in his scoring when Yao was out and the days he played in Orlando. When he has another superstar like Yao who demands a good portion of the shots, he is not going to be in rhythm to get you 30 pts a games. He's just in a phase where he has not adjusted into the role he has to play behind Yao.
first this is r****ded.. t-mac isn't coasting.. he plays as well as he can w/o feeling bad every game.. he just says all the politically correct things.. if he could score 40, he would do it. but if he starts missing more... you start thinking he's coasting?/ come on guys.. it's a confidence problem.. am i the only one who sees this? t-mac is doing is best every game, and letting results get in his head.
yeah that's all we got.. but from this little preview, i'm a little worried.. good thing we have great defense.
Tmac needs to take it to the rack and dunk it. We get on Yao for not dunking, but tmac has been doing the same lately. He drove the lane a few times and did a layup instead and he missed some of them, when he could have gone in for the one handed dunk like old tmac would have.
I actually did this in another thread. The calcs were done quickly, so feel free to go back and correct me : Nov. 1 - Dec. 9 (Yao was active, TMac hurt his back after this stretch) : 42% Dec. 26 - Mar. 3 (Yao was inactive, TMac was relatively healthy) : 45% Beginning of season to Mar. 3 (Yao comes back) : 44% Mar. 5 - The time of my original post - Mar. 23 (Yao is active) : 37% It may have dropped since the 23rd.
