i think he'll be fine but im starting to think maybe we shouldve tried to get billups and hamilton when we had the chance just for the sake of running the damn offense

rip hamilton in this offense would be crazy

as long as tmac is in his usual playoff form come playoff time we'll be more than fine if were healthy

I don't think he's done. But his demeanor on the court these past two games should be of concern. He just doesn't seem interested. I think he's realized that the regular season doesn't mean much in the grand scheme of things. And that all that really matters is post season success. He's developed the Shaq mentality now. Take the first half of the season off and turn it up after the all star break and into the playoffs.

But I don't think that's the right attitude. Although it may seem like he's matured since he no longer cares about individual accolades, I still think the "star" of the team should have a better attitude when on the court, especially for the younger guys. He should have a never say die attitude that will give the team the necessary intensity to succeed in the playoffs. And the better the seeding the easier the first rounds of the playoffs are.

It could be that he's simply injured but he just seems not into the games at all.

I know it's hard for people with variations of McGrady's nicknames in their very handles to wrap their head around the concept, but it's not at all unreasonable to question the legacy of a player who has never been able to lead a team on any sort of playoff run.

It was on the telecast. I might dl the video and go over it again. I remember T-Mac walking over to the bench because Adelman was right there.

Can we please stop making ridiculous threads after watching a couple of games? Every player has 1 or 2 bad games here and there, it doesn't mean that they've all of a sudden lost their skill. He was still able to score 26 against Boston and 30 against Portland on one leg, so give the guy a break. Sometimes shots won't be going down for him, but after all, he's human. Give him some time and rest and he should be fine. Everyone thought D-Wade lost it after that shoulder injury, but after a lot of time and rest, look how he's playing now. So just give the man a break, it's only a couple of games, and we should only be concerned if he keeps up this play consistently for a few weeks.

I really don't understand running around gimpy? If you are not 100%, come out the game. He gets a rebound & can't take off running & that gives other teams time to get back. He's hurting the hell out of us right now.......

I wish we could see a "Return of the Mac". Like if in next game he just exploded and put up 40 pts!

you can tell the past two games he's really been laboring.. i don't know if it's his knees or what but his lateral movement is just not there... and he's noticeably limping at times... he should just rest it.. no need in making it worse

Hmm...I still think it goes farther than that. He really looks as if he's not trying. Again, like I said, even moreso than he always looks. You dont go from scoring 26 and 30 to 2 and 3 just like that. I don't think he's trying.

Of course he still has it. 2 games doesn't change anything. T-Mac still could up (and probably will) 28 7 7 in the playoffs which is more than I could say about anyone you could replace him with in a trade or anyone on this team (Shane/Ron).

Wasn't going to say anything, but that's exactly the impression I got. I couldn't help but wonder if he and Adelman aren't getting along or something. The rumors from last year were that he wasn't buying into the motion offense.

You guys need to calm down. Tmac has been sick. Didn't you see him with a towel across his face for the entire Clippers game? He was sick that's why he was doing that.

When's the last time you came out after being sick and did something completely athletic. Tmac is just an honest guy. Even in his actions. He was being honest by putting the towel over his face. He was letting the fans know that he was sick and was not going to be able to play well.

Give the guy a break after everything he has done for this team.

Most of you guys call yourselves Rockets fans. After 7 games in you guys are like tmac sucks or yao sucks or the rockets need a trade and blah blah blah. Watch when we start playing well you guys will hop back on. You love the rockets when they are winning and hate them when they are losing. It's pathetic you guys should learn something about loyalty.

    QFT.

Tmac was sick and you guys need to learn loyalty. He is actually a very kind person because if he didn't put the towel over his face the whole team would have gotten sick and they all would have played like 60 year old girl.

Personally, I've never been a big fan of TMac. I just don't like players that put up high scoring outputs because of a mass quantity of shots (Iverson is another that comes to mind). Sure, if you're shooting well then keep shooting, but when you shoot sub 30% from the 3 point line and 40% from inside it, you need to realize that isn't your strongest asset. I commend him for his ability to get other players involved and step up his game at times, but in my opinion, his negatives (and I don't only mean his shooting) greatly overshadow his positives.

I am happy his contract is coming off the books next year, I just wish it could be this year. I have just been counting down the time the last couple of years, it can't come soon enough. The bad thing is, we're stuck with him until then, so we have to make the best of it. Right now I'm starting to think the best would be to limit his minutes as much as possible, and consider putting him on the DL when Battier returns. I believe what is going on right now is mostly mental, but with TMac, you always know an injury must be lingering.

I just wish he could read something like this thread to realize the way people see him, and that could light a spark. The problem is, I think he is the type of person that thinks so highly of himself, he would just blow it off......

I'm a Tmac fan, but gimping around for 4quarters puts no fear in teams we play. I doubt if Rudy T. or JVG would play him

Maybe Tracy could teach us. Like the way he never quits on teams and sticks up for the guys he's played with in every interview he does.

You are so negative needlessly. He was sick and was trying to keep everyone on the team from getting sick with that towel over his face. How is that not sticking up for his teammates? Hell, he's not just sticking up for them but their immune system as well.

You have to realize that if Tmac wasn't sick, he wouldn't have had the towel over his face. It was obvious that he cares and doesn't quit. He held that towel over his mouth for two whole quarters. That is the opposite of quit right there. It is the anti-quit.

    Duh.

A post that actually makes sense! Wonderful!

When will people (coaches, players, etc.) realize that volume shooters actually hurt the team if they don't shoot particularly well? (Like TMac and AI)
