I don’t understand why you’re confused. He bought the team. Year one was fine. If you want to say he was “handed a contender” fine — but the changes that happened after year one, ie Chris Paul falling apart and ariza being a big empty, ultimately eliminated the “contending window.” He didn’t end it. Chris Paul’s hamstring ended it.

you’re basically upset that Tilman DIDNT think what everyone else did about Chris Paul being done as an impact player. He looked BAD that next year. He also had a massive contract which limited trade options. But harden wanted a change — and quite frankly we had to do something given the facts on the ground at the time about cp3. Every single move down the line rolls from that cp3 contract extension and then trade.

I also find it hilarious that y’all think ariza would have certainly continued our contending window. Has ariza played AT ALL since he left us? Did he even end the year with Phoenix? I have zero issue with signing Ennis. He was the exact same player as ariza. Three and d. He just didn’t play as well as expected. He was a “discount” because ariza was overpaid at 15/yr!

at that point we were trying desperately to find pieces to keep harden. But y’all just think there were imaginary trade and signing options out there to make us better…

Because all of you live in 20/20 hindsight and refuse to admit it — or are just oblivious.

Agreed. If it was Balmer willing to spend literally any amount for any incremental % increase chance maybe we win a title in 2019. That’s not most owners, including Tilman. It is what it is.

But after that the window looked closed with CP3 eating up that much of the cap.

Again Les sold when he did for a reason.

And even with an owner with a great reputation like Balmer, the PG trade is probably going to turn out worse than the Russ trade.

And at the end of the day, how many rings did les win? How many years did he go without advancing past first round? How many years did we have Yao Ming and Tracy McGrady with nothing but trash as role players? I would have KILLED for a Michael carter Williams or iman shumpert back then…

im just astounded by how “easy” y’all think it is to run a team. It’s like y’all don’t consider at all that other decisions by other players and teams affect OUR ability to make changes. Y’all just assume we could have gotten player X.

This is all kinds of stupid. The folks who knew cp3 for Westbrick aren’t living in hindsight. Folks like myself knew it was a disaster from day 1. I didn’t need hindsight. It was foreseen and I’ve posted about it from day 1. Folks like you think it’s hindsight cause you’re clueless as usual just like tilman. Now you can enjoy what the rockets are now. Just because you failed to recognize anything close to what we’re dumb moves doesn’t mean you take everyone else down with you. Nah it’s a you problem

your own personal mental hoops attempt doesn’t discredit the number of folks around here who saw this disaster coming.

Les inherited the team Charlie Thomas and Steve Patterson built

    no Hakeem
    No Clutch City

And anyone who says Jordan didn’t play in 95 should be banned for life

    Balmer is a real billionaire
Les had to sell the team to become one

Les milked Yao like a cow then sold the farm when the cow left
