That's no so bad. Not exactly what I was looking for, but it gets you this :

    Yao - Yao
Swift - rebounding, energy, resonably decent developing game
    Miller - shooting, passing
    JJ - defense, passing
    J-dub - passing

I think everyone would know their roles.

Bench would be Taylor, AG, Spoon, Boki, Pike, M Jax.

The clique would be gone. Team would be soft. We'd need an Artest to grit up. We'd need a pick. We'd have absolutely no trade capital left.

Maybe that's all we can get
    :(

So now not getting Ward was Les' fault? Was there ever a FA in history that Les has wanted but couldn't get because said FA wanted to sign somewhere else?

Is Orlando under the Cap by $4 million? If not, there is a simple reason why it didn't work.

Your right about the prior trade I demo'd. I have gotten very used to only looking at the Rockets side of the trade. However, here is a better example:

Steve Francis = $5,033,875 BYC value
    Cuttino Mobley = $5,394,125
    Total Salaries = $10,428,000

    for

    Tracy McGrady = $13,279,750
    Trade Exception = ($2,851,750)
    Total Salaries = $10,428,000

This trade works and was declined by RealGM. Trade ID:1467782.
As I mentioned prior...RealGm does not use the TE on all occassions. Cuttino, Pike and JJax combined are about $3.2m from T-MAC and it gets declined as well. Trade ID number 1467832.

Steve's value FOR US is ~5 mil. For the other team he counts for ~10 mil. I believe you that it doesn't always include the trade exception, and your Cat, Pike, JJ example works, but all of your Steve trades are messed up for the above reason.

can him (all caps) can him (all caps) can him-can him-can him!!!

sorry lionel, you're the next contestent...

I'm just kidding - it was quite funny seeing mlcgmatlsat get wacked though! I actually paid for that pleasure - literally. mlcgmatlsat was a repeat offender though.

I just wish Clutch would have ended his tenure with TRADE DENIED!

    :D

If in reference to the False Buck rumor thread, this one has been around much longer. That said, seems Lionel just got confused with what constitutes a rumor and what doesn't.

Ah yes, we must revisit this issue...

...the issue being whether "Play NBA General Manager!" should really be an event at the Special Olympics.

    Stupid Moniker -

Paul Pierce makes $11,318,719. Francis' BYC value = $5,033,875. Francis BYC value plus the $6.9m TE exceeds $12m. Clearly this works as Pierce is 650+k under $12m and Francis' ~$10m value to the Celtics is less than Pierce's $11m.

This trade does not work in RealGM (Trade ID number 1469534). Until you (or someone else) can provide me with a RealGM trade using Houston's trade exception I stand on my original premise - RealGM does NOT use Houston's trade exception in it's Trade Checker.

    Note 1: TE value = Glen Rice @ $9,600,000 - John Amaechi @ $2,392,500 = $6,990,000.
    Note 2: Francis BYC @ $5,033,875 + TE @ $6,990,000 = $12,023,875.

Be careful, GATER, or you'll start another "rumor"! Man, I would do that "trade" in a New York minute, although Boston wouldn't. (sigh)

You wouldn't by any chance be on a first name basis with Auerbach or Ainge? ;)

But you're right...better watch what I type...I would hate to be responsible for anyone getting banned! :D

I think trade number 1471511 uses the trade exception, but I'm not sure. Where do you get this year's salaries?
