Just looking at the stats, Wallace has a 2 rpg and .6 bpg edge on Yao. Yao is outscoring Wallace by a hefty 13 ppg, and that's with drawing double teams all game long. I respect Wallace and what he does, but he only impacts one side of the court. If Yao doesn't make 2nd team, it will be criminal. If it happens, then there is obviously an elephant in the room that no one wants to acknowledge. To see coach after coach send double and triple teams to stop Yao, and then give him praise after the game, then they better put their money where their mouth is and vote for Yao. And if they put so much emphasis on winning, then why did they put Lebron ahead of Tmac last year?
I think Yao is a better player, no doubt, but we know that whoever selects the All-NBA teams will favor players on winning teams. Amongst the managerial circles of the NBA, Ben Wallace is probably held in higher regard than Yao as a player.
