At least, every team should have like 3 chances to chanllenge refs every game, so teams will only chanllenge the refs when they have no other choice and in that case, the game won't be delayed too much. :D

Lies! Battier always has his feet set when he takes a charge. Yao on that play was still moving.

The answer is no. The NBA won't listen. Their refs are making good money from games like these.

    No surprise.

All day marketing, special treatment, easy fouls and media attention and everything for LeBron James, Kobe Bryant, Dwight Howard and Dwayne Wade.

I think that it is really frustrating sometimes.

    How about NBA pets? Celtics?

Wait who are Celtics? - Celtics fan in 05'

Celtics are the best team ever! - Just a moment ago, Celtics fan

Way off easy trades. Pau Gasol for bag of chips?

Garnett for a bunch of overrated high school kids (except Al Jefferson).

Cavaliers, Celtics and Lakers get easiest schedule and it's been in league for a quite some time now.

It isn't maybe the schedule but the treatment they get.

Houston Rockets fans, face it, we are underdogs.

yao using the race card would not only make a huge story in the national media, but would scare stern ****less. they should release a compilation video of bs calls, too.

It doesn't help that Ilgauskas, Varejao, and even lebron flopped throughout the game.

I'm not sure if asians can do it or not but Yao needs to grow his hair out like Sideshow Bob. It makes every little action look more dramatic.

I think NBA has some of the worst referees in ANY sports game. They're very inconsistent. The problem i have is that they can't identify flopping. As soon as they see someone flop or fall down intentionally, they immediate assess that someone must have cause that and that someone is the guy who play against him. They're like robots that can't see what's behind the fall and always tend to favor the guy who fall.

Another problem I have is that they TEND to call all doubtful calls in favor of the home team because they're being influenced by the home crowd...this is the main reason for home court advantage.

Another problem is superstar treatment. You will see more than likely any doubtful call tend to favor the superstars rather than the rookies. Now let's think about this phrase for a minute...is it fair?? Hell no!!! Why would it be fair?? That's why you have referees in the game...to make judgment no matter who you are ..what status you are....their jobs is to make the correct call!!! But NBA officiating is so ****ed up that this has become a norm.

David Stern has ruined the NBA, plain and simple.

The old NBA was the shiz, these days the league is weak as piss, all these rules added to make scoring easier.

Yao is doing the smart thing and shutting up about the refs or officiating. You DO NOT want the refs to be keeping a whole lot attention to you. There are a few good refs out there so you don't want to cause a bad tie with the refs.

That game against the Cavs look like the refs rigged the game.

Exactly, not too sure, but he probably missed intentionally to get to the people betting on the game. Missed ft = tied at 189, not over, nor under.
    You never know man...

it was just horrible the way the game was reffed.

The bizarre thing to me is this:

I along with a lot of other fans paid a lot of money to see NBA players play. I particularly want to see NBA superstars play. I *want* to see Dwight Howard; I don't want to see him sitting because of two ticky tack calls. I *want* to see Devin Harris; again, ticky tack fouls sent him to the bench. Last night, it was Yao's turn.

Um, I don't pay money to watch lousy referees make marginal calls. I want to see the best players in the planet play against each other. Don't you understand this, David Stern?

When *your* referees significantly alter the lineup because of bad calls, that makes me less and less inclined to purchase tickets, purchase NBA League Pass, and purchase NBA items (jerseys, t-shirts, etc.) As a consumer of your product, I feel that I should have a say. David Stern, you think I should not have a say.

Since that's the case, it is only a matter of time when I spend my entertainment money elsewhere.

Good point, I would love for Yao to starting complaining publicly about the lack of respect and officials not calling the game directly. Yao won't do it, let Battier do it, he has mad respect in the league.

100% agree. too bad we all know yao won't do it. but it would be VERY interesting to see the reaction of stern if yao had ever said that. we all know stern is the epitome of the saying "judge, jury, and executioner", but will he rule with such undisputed authority to a figure like yao who commands such foreign interest and revenue?

VERY INTERESTING INDEED. MAKE IT HAPPEN!

I say just bet your money against the Rockets! If the Rockets lose, you will be happy that you've made some money. If the Rockets win, you will still be happy. It is what I call a win win situation. :D
