Yes, this game was maybe the worst ever.

 

DD, that is EXACTLY what he should do, we all kno if Yao did actually make a stance like that Stern and the league front office would **** themselves!
Then they would make the refs call all the crap Yao has put up with all these years, it's ridiculous how much crap Yao has dealt with/.

 

It was, but I get the feeling the Rockets, especially Yao, are going to have to expect this kind of treatment a few times during the playoffs.

But the silver lining is that even with Yao hindered by the fouls, other players stepped up and kept the game competitive. The Rockets refused to go away.

IMO, this kind of experience is only going to help the team in the long run.

I only saw the first half, will watch the replay later tonight, but I hung around long enough to see Sideshow Bob's hair-enhanced flopping make a complete mockery of the game of basketball as we know it. If the league was worth a damn they would go back, review the tapes, and hit him with a steep fine for that crap. That would neutralize major parts of Sideshow's, Ginobili, and unfortunately Scola's games' (though I haven't noticed much flopping from Scola this year...yet). Yeah I know Ron flopped on LeBron tonight, but it's not a huge part of Ron's game, he could survive without it.

The way you stop flopping is to give them an auto suspension for obvious flops like Varapunks.

The league should be incorporating flops into the box scores for every game. The game officials and league statisticians should be recording this stat for all the fans and media to see game-by-game. Sportscenter can even nickname it the Ginobli. When showing highlights of a Spurs-Suns match, they can tell us that Ginobli recorded 16 points, 6 assists, 3 turnovers, and 5 ginoblis in the game, for instance.

 

While bad officiating is at an all time low this season, the Rockets still have to remember that in basketball, nothing is going to be given to them. They did that tonight with McGrady out/not stepping up and Yao out early because of BS foul calls. We kept in the game the whole way, not giving away to any of the terrible calls by the referees.

Games like this make me feel like stop watching the NBA. It seems to get worse and worse every year but nothing is done about it.

 

OMFG just saw Yao's offensive foul on Ben Wallace, elbow to the head. What a pathetic joke of a call.

 

Ironically, I can recall specifically a play from last season much the same with Tim Duncan whacking the face of Chuck with his elbow and Chuck getting the foul.

He should hint that he might leave the NBA in 2010 becasue of how he is treated by officials.

 

well,,,,this has always been an issue concerning us,,,,probably Yao will never get fairly officiated in his NBA career.

 

Look for the one where Varejo is behind Yao pushing him but somehow Yao fouls him.

 

Remember Dwight Howard pulled yao onto the floor and Yao were called for the foul? Remember Yao tried to block DHoward so Head could go for the layup and Dhoward ran into Yao and Yao was called for the foul? Those were almost ridiculous with yours!

If Yao has gut he should complain this to the US media and call out Stern and the league officers rather than whines to the Chinese media.
Too bad Yao is a typical Chinese who is stingy and not willing to pay for the fine!

 

Tell me about it, Varejoke literally head butt Yao arm and then flopped for the foul. I hope Varecrap have a career ending injury cause he is bad for the game.

 

I think the biggest thing is to be able to enforce it retroactively. That is, for there to be reviews on these things from tapes. Because refs can't enforce it in real-time as they have no way of seeing the difference between a flop and a real foul.

 

This was bad tonight, but the 80's celts were the worse. Its wasn't a accident they lost 1 game 1 yr at home.

The refs were bad and yao got the dookey stick tonight. I'm telling, shaq used to get those flopping guys and run over them and then step or fall on one. If you get a foul, get ur money's worth.
